I need a movie that is downright terrifying

Not looking for a shock film or anything like that - I want something that really gets inside you and is fucked up on a psychological level.

I remember being scared at movies like The Others, The Thing, Inland Empire, The Exorcist, even.

Give me some good suggestions!

The Tenant

I also own I Spit On Your Grave and it had some moments but was nowhere near as good as the original Last House on the Left, which it seemed to be pretty much identical to in terms of storyline and overall feel.

deals with being possessed
deals with mental insanity
deals with having nightmares
deals with alternate realities or strange realities like Twilight Zone shit

I recently saw Take Shelter and it had some pretty freaky moments.

Down The Barrell... its intensly emersive and slow to start but itll drag ur balls
down a drain pipe if you keep at it. arguably the best shocker was at the very end, but you have to watch all the way through to understand how shocking it is.

to be honest i couldn't finish it. too weird 4 me. i think i got to the third tape or whatever when it starts getting 2 weird and i stopped watching probably for good.
