Nobody posts on Myspace anymore

What was the reason for the mass exodus on Myspace? EVERYONE used to post there... Then about two years ago everyone (everyone) stopped using that website. All of the most recent posts on Myspace accounts are, on average, 2 years old. Robots?

No, the robots aren't posting on Myspace anymore because the economy collapsed and their masters could no longer afford to have them occupy two digital arenas

It's an interesting thing because I can't point to a direct date or reason for leaving. Mr. Proots explanation is the most reasonable but I never made a conscious decision to leave myspace. One day, I made an account on FB and I never expected to use it because it was foreign to me. I made many direct links back to my myspace. But then I kept checking it and checking it, and sure enough, people started to add me. Those people that added me began to say thing, Than I said a thing. Then I added people. Then I started talking more on FB than Myspace.

It's incredible how seamless the transition was.

Indeed, and it's not like all people are going to stop using Myspace, there should at least be a few hundred thousand people who will continue to use it. I have never found an active profile before. Even Tom stopped posting. Someone must have turned off the nanomachines

If i say social networking site you immediately know what i mean. Comparing this to that is like comparing apples to oranges. They are similar, but clearly a different thing entirely.

oh ok, but social networking websites have a definition, one which this bbs does not meet, so when i say, I dislike social networking websites, reasonable humans would take that too mean google plus or facebook, not zoklet or reddit.

So just because it is a website through which we are socializing, it does not make it a social networking website, because that term has a set definition and we can't just make it mean any damn thing we like.

same reason as friendster, newer, better interface. Also, while early adopters had both myspace and facebook accounts, more first time social networking users at that time were joining only facebook. So it makes no sense to keep both, so just keep the one that more people were on and that was facebook.
