Re: The most accomplished multiplayer zombie sim to date
it's rare for a game scare me, but playing at night? HOLY SHIT! I cant describe how terrifying this is.

Re: The most accomplished multiplayer zombie sim to date
This game is fucking great. People lose their shit over dying in this game, when they still had global chat this game was full of raging babies.
This mod is in alpha/early beta and it's awesome, you can really shit on someone's day via this game.
It's like eve but 100 times less boring.

Re: The most accomplished multiplayer zombie sim to date
I played it a lot for about 2 weeks, like a month ago. Frankly I think the newer patches have broken a lot of shit and somehow its more glitchy than it used to be. It's a fun game but I will wait until more patches come out or beta, or its a full release or whatever before I start playing. oh, and global chat mad ethings a bit more interesting. also zombies are not really a threat at all, which is weird for a 'zombie simulator.'

Bought a copy for a friend last night for his up and coming birthday, He's a bit of a zombie fanatic... I swear he tried to dry hump my leg when he found out about it.

Re: The most accomplished multiplayer zombie sim to date
Just got this..let's get a fuckin crew goin! Love the shit out of this game. Its buggy as fuuuck and can be extremely frustrating/boring but sitting up on a hill with a suppressed M4 for 30 minutes watching some dude loot a town, waiting for the perfect shot then killing the fool is the most satisfying feeling I've ever had in a video game and moments like those more than makes up for the bugs and frustration.

Re: The most accomplished multiplayer zombie sim to date

Ain't gunna lie, I was pretty massively stoked. Best part about it was I personally didn't have to do any looting in the town, as I let that dude do it. I killed the guy and got my medical supplies I needed off him then got the fuck outta there
Oh, and to those who stopped playing DayZ:
They JUST released a patch that fixed almost all the artifacts/visual bugs and also a LOT of other bugs. Its improved a lot but its definately still an Alpha.

Re: The most accomplished multiplayer zombie sim to date
Last time I attempted playing was the night of the patch when I finally got to the loading screen for the first time. Got to chat with some players in the waiting room, so I assume it was working, but I never actually got in to the game. Havent tried since then. Kinda over it. I think if after trying to get it working for like 4 months, and if it didnt work again, I'd just implode with anger. It looks like the game ive been waiting to play forever, but 1) I suck at regular Arma so bad, an 2) I just dont have the patience to try to figure out 68 different error messages again.
I prefer the games I can just buy, pop in, and be good to go. Not ones where I have to copy and paste code into some folder, dupe it and send it in an email to 13 old wise men all over the globe, to have them print it, roll it up ,and burn it with incense to scatter the ashes to the four winds before I can get gaming...

Re: The most accomplished multiplayer zombie sim to date
My most massive beef with this game is the complete lack of an endgame. The objective is to simply hullaballoo around as long as possible before some nigger in a hill caps you in the ass.

Me too. Not solely because of DayZ, but it pushed me further in that direction.
Does anyone else watch these?

They're so soothing. Frankie has such a delicious voice, it's such a pleasure to hear. Everyone should have a slight British accent.

hard to believe that you cant find a server, the lag is to be expected though that engine blows ass.

I can see hundreds of servers, by they all require "version 1.07.1026" and I have version "1.07.6021". Those are made up numbers, but that's what the problem I'm having is. There are two versions, and one of them makes up 90-95% of the pool. I have the other one.

Things like DayZ are the reason I would be totally in favor of some company picking up these mods and making them into full stand-alone, real games.

Re: The most accomplished multiplayer zombie sim to date
Alright, I finally got it working. Cant seem to get direct chat working for some reason tho.
Luckily I ran into some cool ass nigga who set me up with blood packs n AK, ammo, food, Assault pack, etc. Only wish the inventory system wasnt such utter bullshit. I ended up dropping half of the cool shit on accident and having it sink into the ground and disappear. Wtf?

just update the arma 2 beta patch u dingus and furthermore just use dayzcommander because its still the best way to play dayz regardless of whether or not it's on steam.
as for me i prolly wont be playing dayz again until the standalone comes out. unless pat man or casper feels like playing with me then maybe
