You could try the faraday cage method mixed with the salt water - create a faraday cage for around the anklet/your foot, then submerge your foot in water.

Depending on the signal strength of your bracelet (I assume the unit used to track your distance is in your home?), this should suffice in holding in the signal.

The reaction they might have from a complete loss of signal is another story, but from what you have said, you don't care about that part.

Another thing you could look into (which I would advise using after you have left your home, possibly at a mate's place) is a plasma cutter. They are expensive to buy outright (well, not a whole lot, but a decent one would probably be $1k+), but I am sure one of your mates could rent one for a short period of time to help you do your business. Since your anklet is a bit loose, I would slide a welder's mit or something over your foot in the off chance the flame is going to touch your ankle.

plasma cutter won't work on any of the plastic/rubber parts unless you wrap something conductive around it

For hydrochloric acid, scrape off the rubber, and use a rag to apply it to the metal. Keep adding more acid, as reacting with the metal will deplete it. Any concentration will work, but higher concentration is faster. It will cause a chemical burn, so keep it away from skin.

Look up electrolysis to get the basics. The power supply and scrap metal are integral to the process, and have nothing to do with the alarm. Only the part of the band you wish to erode needs to be submerged. It will not shock you if you use a low voltage power supply.

You can find all kinds of security screw bits online, but there's a much easier way. Use a dremel rotary tool to cut a slot in the top of the screw, and convert it to a regular flat head screw. I do this all the time when taking apart things with stupid security screws.

If you don't care about triggering an alarm, then simply open the plastic case and remove the battery. Definitely the easiest method. The strap can then be removed at your leisure.

A plasma cutter will work very well, but has the mild side effect of causing major third degree burns on your ankle.

from what ive read hardened steel dissolves very slowly in hydrochloric acid, a couple days submerged.. would it take just as long with the electrolysis method? i think he will try cutting slots in the screws and taking it apart.. good idea didnt even think of that.

Electrolysis is certainly faster. It can go as fast as the power supply will allow.

Use cutters to expose the steel and then dremel through it. This whole process should take about 2 minutes. ideally, you'd keep moving while this is happening, so I guess get a battery powered dremel and a car. Chuck the bracelet out the window when you're done.

The 20 minute rating is a joke.

i think your best bet would be to go the electrolysis method as spatula said, getting it off without tripping it. You could be gone for hours before they even realize your gone rather than them get alerted immediatley and be on the lookout. you have to be smarter than the bracelet, not brute force it. nothing is impossible if you put enough thought into it.

Assume the worst. I would make the screw cuts in your home, and unscrew in your car on the freeway. They would not be able to track it to the exact car, so finding you might be difficult once the alarm goes off.

i dont think he has all the tools necessary to do that. he lost all his shit when he got arrested right before bills so hes livin w his third party now. gonna have to call a friend and have them bring over a dremel.

Those bits won't work very well. They're better suited to engraving than fast cutting. Diamond bits aren't optimal for steel either. The grit size is too small, making it cut very slow.

This is best for what you want. It can either cut slots in the screws, or cut through the entire band.

Also, I suggest immersing the monitor into a bucket of salt water. It serves three purposes: muffling the alarm, attenuating radio signals, and shorting out the electronics. If you do this before removing the screws, it probably won't trigger an alarm, but there's still the concern of the absence of any signal triggering an alert.
