I have so many issues with Lost that it still makes me a bit angry. After all the time that I dedicated to that show; it had to be one of the biggest television let-downs in history. (Battlestar Gallactica is a close second) They left so many loose-ends that were never resolved. Damon and Carlton (the writers) had so much disdain for the fans and openly mocked them; their final season just shows what a piece of shit the show became.

I didn't notice the hippos until I listened to the AfterBuzz Podcast for Breaking Bad. They do most of the "filter-work" for me after I watch it. The show is so dense that you miss a TON!!!

I have a theory. There is a spoiler from the beginning of the first episode so if you haven't watched yet, leave now.

Remember when it was showing Walt in Cali in a Denny's? Well, he is making the 52 in bacon for his birthday, just like Skyler did for him in the pilot. He seemed so sad, I think that Junior and Skyler were killed or he had to leave them because of some type of danger. He is by himself eating out for breakfast, pretty clear that he's by himself. Then you see the guy give him the keys to the car with the M60 in it. I think that is for his "final stand" that he will have against whatever this danger may be.

Well one thing to note about the flash forward is walt isnt wearing his wedding ring, and they made a point later in the episode to show that he normally wears it (when he's tells the junkyard guy its made of gold and wont be attracted to the magnet.)

Also, he has hair and a beard and we've already seen him shaving off his hair once. That means it's actually a huge flash forward.

I'm still a big fan of the show but I have to agree, that final saeson was a giant WTF? It's like they gave up and just spit it out to satisfy their contract.

I'm pretty sure he was still in ABQ. The waitress asked him if he was on his way to Cali. And yeah, I'm gonna vote "final stand" on that M60. Although it is VG's style to get us thinking one thing, only to do a complete 360 on us.
