Default Looking For New Ambient Music Suggestions

Huge Boards of Canada fan here. Also enjoy Aphex Twin and some Ulrich Snauss. Any suggestions appreciated!

Tycho is great for BoC fans. If you're interested in Aphex Twin, there is a group called The Tuss who has come out with stuff that is so similar that people suspect it is actually a Richard D. James pseudonym.

Ever head of Bluetech? Well he's released some albums under many different aliases and genres. Evan Bartholomew's "We Set Out Into The Caverns of Time" is what I would personally select as a representation of the human species if I was asked by an alien race to show them our deepest essence. Pure, orgasmic ambient gold. You don't need drugs for this one.

Also, if you enjoy Aphex Twin's absolute manic crazy weird vibe, check out some of Larry Carlson's music. Aphex Twin is a full-souled incarnation of machine consciousness, & Carlson is a full-souled incarnation of psychedelic consciousness:

It's music like this that restores my faith in humanity daily.

Awesome suggestions guys, thanks a ton! Good to have some new stuff to listen to.

I had forgotten about Tycho- I had heard a song from them a while back and really liked it.

Bluetech and Solarfields, samples included.. .
Also, dubtribe sound system, and woob is my absolute favorite.
Sync24 is good too, I guess.

Burial is fantastic - people also thought Burial was a Richard D James pseudonym. Super spacey, atmospheric, and bass-heavy

Aphex Twin's selected ambient works is like the best ambient album ever, imo

Deaf Centre is great as well

Listen to "Lake Erie" by The Microphones. interesting sound collage type stuff

Hildenbutel, Trentemøller, Twilight Circus Sound System. Those are some recent additions I just made to my library.

I second Tycho.

M83's earlier work is also really good, some of it's rather ambient, though a lot of it is post-rock/shoegaze.
