Re: My court case
This is hilarious. OP, get a lawyer and throw your little note from home in the trash can. This isn't middle school, and you didn't just get a demerit.

Re: My court case
Congrats, on the punishment fitting the crime. For future court related incidents though, I just wanted to add that the biggest part in fighting a charge is (obv), not incriminating yourself when you get arrested. If you're determined to fight it (say a clean record is worth more than money to you, for example), say nothing, admit to nothing, and be careful; if a cop is trying to talk/converse about the incidents, they're trying to lure you into incriminating yourself. So, being baked is not a good time to converse, or lie. Keep silent. Lawyer up. If you don't want to do the lawyer thing, and represent yourself ever, like everyone said; defend, not try to sidetrack. You've got to be able to prove your innocence.
I've represented myself in a few traffic related things and have always won, or gotten the tickets changed to ones with smaller fines, and less points. But that's Canada, and where I am, everyone pleads not guilty to everything, so if the judges see an opportunity to finalize a case, they'll take it. Most of them won't favour the cops either, if you can present yourself properly, it's nice.
Obviously, that wasn't the case. But if you're cruising around with a hunting knife, scale, and any kind of prohibited substance, it's best to plan ahead for when the worst does happen.
My last point, is when you're in court, the most useful thing to do is try to use your body language, your appearance, and your style of speaking to convey the impression that you're a productive member of society that either made a bad choice, or an innocent person (if you're lawyered up). Either way, pay attention to how everyone addresses the judge, when they stand, and how people are answering questions. If you can be the fastest, most proper, and respectable person to deal with, out of everyone there, you might also have a better chance. Most importantly, be humble to the judge, treat him like a deity, and don't disrespect anyone/stray from the matter at hand.
Anyway, I rambled a little much. TL;DR
1. Don't incriminate yourself.
2. Decide whether you have a case or not, and if you are gonna lawyer up.
3. Be respectable, don't piss anyone off, look presentable.
4. ???
5. Profit!

Re: My court case
You are better off not mentioning the so called "wrong" things that the police did in court so you don't waste the judge's time. Just admit to the crime and move on. Your probably going to get a harsher sentence if you don't make it simple.
