Default Military Funeral?

So I know this will only apply to a few members, but: Do you want a military funeral?

I met with my lawyer last week, to work on my will, and the discussion came up of a military funeral. For now, I opted for a military funeral after being a part of my grandpa's funeral (WWII vet)

P.S.-
For those you that dont know, I'm a two-tour vet (not currently active) but I'm still working with the gov't in a civilian capacity (I do IT work now...before I ran a gun)

If I were in the service I would probably take it, first of all from what i hear funerals are quite expensive and secondly you get to rest beside your "brothers".

Just to clarify: yes, funerals can be quite expensive, but I dont want to be buried in a national cemetery. I'd rather be buried in my hometown. I'm not rich, but I have enough assets to cover my funeral (ie: car, savings, stocks, life insurance, etc).

I'm talking more about the ceremony of a military funeral (honor guard, 3 volley salute, folded flag, etc)

Dude you've earned it.

And if it's something you're proud of, and something you remember as something to be proud of, then why not?

It's like probably 60 years away though.

But still, don't get all embarrassed and red in the face about it, go for it. It's a part of who you are.

If i have a lot of money when i die, i'm getting a viking funeral or shot into space. If i die poor, than absolutely military funeral. I don't want my family eating the expense of my passing.

But i'm hoping that by the time i go, i'll have done enough stuff that 'was in the army' isn't my major accomplishment i want people thinking about at my death.

I don't want any kind of funeral--I am an ogan donor.

What happens to the body I am using after I no longer have use for it is none of my concern.
