Re: Tools
Snap-On, Craftsmen, Ricktools, and a whole bunch of other shit. Snap-On thinks their tools are worth their weight in gold but most of the time it's not worth it at all to buy a $23.00 combination wrench. They do have some really useful stuff though.

Re: Tools
Draper or Halfords Professional (lifetime guarantee at half the price of Snap-On). I did inherit some Snap-On tools and they're lovely...

Re: Tools
Klein, Knipex, Occidental Leather, Channellock, Fluke
At home I have about exclusively craftsman, if I get the Lista tool-chest I want I will probably start filling it with snap-on or something else USA made that is superior to craftsman ( u mad? ) .

Re: Tools
I like matco tools when I can afford them, but I have a bunch of industrial supply craftsman stuff that I bought a while back too. When it comes to craftsman you can only buy from industrial supply cause that sears cast shit sucks, you have to go forged and machined all the way if you want your tools to last a lifetime.

Re: Tools
Tools that I've paid for... Pittsburgh. Central Pneumatic. Chicago Electric.
Tools that I've ended up with that I didn't have to pay for myself... Kobalt and Snap On.

Re: Tools
If you live near a sears store, craftsman is a good choice.
Generally, any made in the USA tool with a lifetime warranty should serve you well.
You have to watch out anymore, as vintage toolmakers like Stanley, Black and Decker, and even Vermont American are outsourcing to China

look here for the still made in the USA tools:

truth! I'm an aussie tradesman and love me some USA tools. blue spruce, wenzloff, hardcore hammers, lie nielson etc.
Swedes know their shit too, bahco and gransfor bruks are both great manfuacturers. British blade makers are still the best imo.
As for power tools, German or Japanese are my choice generally. Alot of stuff is made in china nowadays, it sucks. US manufacturers are good, but more expensive over here.
I have a Japanese made makita 6" panel saw that's 30 years old. It still cuts with surgical precision, all adjustments are still perfectly true.

Re: Tools
Snap on makes amazing things but you for sure pay the price of quality
Ingersol Rand makes very good air tools at often a very good price compared to snap on for almost equal preformance and reliability.
