Everyone's obsession with drugs

They're good sometimes yeah, but they're overrated as fuck.

Alcohol - Social lubricant, kind of a cultural thing to go out and drink in my case, but that's it. There's no excitement or stimulation coming out of it anymore other than the occassional lulz and lasting 2 minutes longer without jizzing than I normally would sober. The taste is alright though, for the most part.

Nicotine - Not much to be said.

Marihuana - The most overfuckingrated plant ever. It's good, if used every now and then and want to relax and laugh and meaningless shit and enjoy some food. But otherwise it sucks. You look and talk like a fucking retard sometimes, and if you smoke every day your tolerance goes up the ass so you need more and more until you become something like Figure-8 if you're weak minded enough.

Halucinogens - LSD, Salvia, shrooms all that shit... yeah you trip balls and see these awesome and scary things and have some moments of insight and happiness. Guess what though, it's all temporary and not real. I've had crazier and far more bizarre dreams in my everyday life than images I've seen under these things. It's fun, sure, but that's it. They're not portals to other dimensions or any of that shit.

Coke - Prolly the second most overrated besides weed. Does jackshit if you aren't snorting a line every fifteen minutes like a whore and it's too expensive.

Meth, Heroin, benzos all that other shit - I don't get why people get this. Sure, meth will keep you awake for 72 hours and make you do tweeker shit, but abusing it makes you look like shit. About the benzos, what's the deal with them? Frankly I loathe pills and/or might be a masochist because I can actually endure pain for a while.

Maybe I'm just getting old now. I'd try shit I haven't tried before, mostly in the psychedelic department to see what happens but still... I don't expect a whole new world.

Honestly marijuana has given me some of the most intense highs I've experienced. Any drug can be valuable to a person's development, it's how they use it and how they make inferences from their experience that makes all the difference.

Hey, that's all we can really go on. If it makes you feel shitty in the long-term, good on you for recognizing that and abstaining. Not everyone has that kind of foresight.

I can't see myself using it every day for fear that its effects on me would become more consistent. When I do smoke it's more of a spiritual experience in terms of cognitive and emotional change, but even so I don't believe that a tool must define whatever truth may be apprehended from its use.

Sobriety is a different kind of high entirely--boring and filled with novelty, and certainly quite underrated.

the thoughts you have on hallucinogenics are perfectly real, it's no less valid just because it took a different chemical composition in your head for you to feel this shit, it's just probably something you're not going to be able to stick to when sober, otherwise you'd have thought it then too.

my only other comment is, why no piece on MDMA? and putting meth together with benzos, what the fuck is that about? it's like assessing 'Food' and rolling in tomatoes with dolphin meat. I mostly agree with everything else, though from my limited experience with cocaine I did rather appreciate it.

I haven't tried it, but from what I understand and seen it just makes you touch everything, act like an idiot and love everything for a couple of hours until you begin to sober up and finally get depressed. Same shit. I wouldn't take it unless I was in an orgy or something and even then I've heard you have a hard time getting an erection on that drug so what's the point.

and man, you're missing out. I strongly recommend it to you, sparingly though. You won't act like an idiot, you'll love that that ought to be loved, and you won't get depressed unless you start to use regularly and the comedowns become appalling. If you never experience it, you've truly missed out.

Drugs are entertaining. They're "cheap thrills." I understand why people are obsessed. I disagree with the statement about hallucinogens. I think that you can keep a hold of some of the insight and thoughts from a trip, and I think that people who have done them would agree. I mean sure you won't come out being buddha or anything like that.You can also gain nothing from them. It depends on your intentions with them. However, I hate the people who view them as some sort of spiritual god send that will unlock all your problems. I think weed, hallucinogens, and MDMA do have some value to them for personal growth if you don't over do them. That's not to say that I thought you were claiming that you don't believe that, though.

MDMA (or at least I thought it was MDMA, I was told it could've been cut with meth.) helped me realize that I can push my limits way further for stimulation, I can handle more anxiety than I thought. Before that point I was very sexually backed up, I never orgasmed before trying MDMA. I noticed the similarities between masturbation and the feeling I experienced that day, so I pushed further without being uncomfortable so I can cum like a normal person. I was 18 at the time.

Nicotine is only good / pleasureable if you use it very rarely. The more you smoke the less pleasure you get out of it, and you just do it because you NEED it. I have noticed that they have made my thoughts more visual, reading books is much more entertaining now. However, I really need to cut back for a month or two because the pleasure is decreasing with every puff. Oh and uh, yeah it's really really bad for you.

Alcohol, umm... it just feels really good to me, I like the body high and looseness. No drug has ever, ever, ever let me escape my problems. I still think about them while fucked up, in fact, when I'm fucked up I'm more likely to cry about stuff.

I don't know if it's completely fair to demonize drug use so much but not other tools people use to "escape" their problems too. Like any form of entertainment, people are addicted to the tv. Heck, my parents live their lives through the tv. Books, etc. These are all passive forms of escapism that don't involve doing anything constructive, really. There was this guy who was addicted to biking so much that he could barely walk and had to get back surgery from being hunched over so much on his bike.
Too much of any recreational activity is bad for you. "Everything in moderation." I'm not trying to say that being a bookworm is on par with being a junkie... but yeah.


Point is, just don't let drugs interfere with your quality of life or what you want to do. If you see that anything that you're doing is fucking up aspirations of yours you should do something about it. Easier said than done, though.

Can you think of anything on this earth that can give you a similar experience to taking a hallucinogen? Or nodding off on an opiate? Or feels as good as the rush when people shoot up? Some things come close. Some people say there are better things. Everybody has opinions.

One thing you can't deny is that as far as drugs are overrated they are unique in that they are some of the most interesting things the human mind can dabble in.

You've got a point, most mexicans are brown. However, I live in the north, in one of the states that border USA where a large chunk of the people are white. The rest however, especially in south-central Mexico and even further south are the typical plump, brown and short people everyone knows about. I don't like these folk too much, especially those from Mexico City. They have the worst spanish accent ever (speaking like, they have to end everything they say with a question) and they don't even trust themselves. Some are good people though, so I'm just generalizing.

I'm not mad though. Let's fuck.

Yeah one time I got stoned and I had to fall down and twitch a little. Haha. It wasn't a seizure, though. I just... had to do it? Am I crazy?
