I'm not sure a website has ever been successfully blocked from the internet. They know it'll be back up in a day or so, not sure why they do things this way.
Either they're hoping a few people will stop using it now that it's 'banned' (although no one I know stopped using tpb) or governments genuinely think they can control the internet in its current form

Yea, i noticed all the torrents I find on other sites are taken from demonoid, evident by that small text file included. I actually can't find shit on demonoid that isn't already on other sites, without having to even login.

I wonder if they used magnet links instead like TPB does, that they wouldn't get shutdown. The magnet links are supposedly what spares TPB from prosecution. I hope that's not the only option because I really fucking hate magnet links and how you can't select which item content to download from the tracker

Movies maybe, but definitely not music. I'd rather chuck the artists $5 than shelling out $15 or whatever and most of it going to the companies who own the artists. Fuck them, until they treat artists respectfully and give them a fair share, I'll download all the music I want for free.

I left music off the list precisely because that's where things get muddled and you start getting people saying "the artists just want to share their work" and shit. Music is entirely a case by case basis, and honestly - if the artist wants to share their work for free they shouldn't be signed to a contract.
Movies and games though. Those are inexcusable. Demonoid was full of those and there is no justification for downloading/stealing those beyond "I grew up downloading stuff and I don't want to have to start paying now!"
