Re: Here is the "book you are currently reading" thread
"Seven days of Peter Crumb" - About a suicidal maniac and his schizophrenic alter ego as they embark on a 7 day adventure of mischief, murder and mayhem. It's amazingly written and had me in fits of laughter, especially how he lives his last days out according to the Daily Mail's front headlines. For example, on one day it reads: "My drug shame". So he chooses to take as many drugs as he normally does, this includes having opium shoved up his arse and sniffing massive quanities of ketamine.
This is one of the chapters of the book, entitled: "The story of a whore at bedtime". Guaranteed you will be sucked in:

"Guns, Germs, and Steel", by Jared Diamond. He debunks racist theories as to why many cultures are seemingly more advanced than others. It won the Pulitzer for non-fiction in '01 I believe and I would recommend it to anyone.

Re: Here is the "book you are currently reading" thread
Re-reading WoT The Gathering Storm for the third time. I was reading some dry philosophy/political books I bought, but I felt like reading a fun book with some characters and story. I love the characters in these books so much, I basically grew up with them. Reading them is like having a chat with an old childhood friend. Can't wait for A Memory of Light next year.

The Iliad- By Homer.. Translated to English for my upcoming Greek Literature class.. along with 8 other Greek translated works.. I just have to get through this thing first.. It's not bad though, I wouldn't have taken the class if I didn't think I would enjoy it.

Re: Here is the "book you are currently reading" thread
Nietzsche is such overrated bullshit. The ravings of some mad conceited old fool, if i had a time machine i would go back just to tell him to shut the fuck up and punch him in his dirty Kraut face. Nothing in these books i have read makes any sense apart from one thing he actually mentioned about weed.. “If a man wishes to rid himself of a feeling of unbearable oppression, he may have to take hashish.” The last one "Ecce Homo" was when he was at the pinacle of his insanity and makes more sense than the others.

yeah man, i got the paper back as well. I really like the fact that it has all of his published works in it though. When i was locked up, the library there had absolutely no Edgar Allen Poe. Ended up reading Machiavelli's The Prince, Plato's The Republic, The Brother's Karamazov and Charlotte's Web

this was about '03/0'4 they had a lot of good articles, well at least it helped time pass by, but it's been a minute since i cracked one open. I remember an article where dat nigga B.G. was talking about how Baby & his bro used BG's heroin addiction to fuck him over from a lot of money & how he was suing them. It was about the same time when Webbie was blowing up

Finished A Dance With Dragons. It was good but the story line is still expanding and doesn't feel like its very close to finishing....Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Are there two more books to come?
Now reading The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test. Makes me want to buy a bus and drop acid.
