No, not really. I've skated for 13 years now, and actually most skaters smoke weed, drink and not much else. Of course you have that percentage that does hard drugs, and the few like me that are into psychedelics, and most skaters will experiment with other things at some point, but they're not the majority. It's because we have a hobby that you can't do while terribly fucked up.
The trend nowadays is for skaters to be straight-edge faggots wearing skinny jeans listening to screamo. Santa Cruz has even changed its' signature sticker to say "Skateboarding used to be a crime."

True, although I do know one kid who used to rip and is now all about percs/xannies/oxys/kpins etc, he still has a bag of tricks but I haven't seen anything new in years. As far as too fucked up to skate, theres a sizable group of "skaters" that sit at the park poppin xanax and smoking cigs. They might be able to skate but they's fuckin lazy.
