I thought this might be the first one China takes, for the new chinese era. Looks like that'l be next olympics now, and from then on it'l constantly be China then US, and with just the third position that's really under contention.

I don't much like the 'national' medal tables. Athletes compete, not nations. To pretend all these medals have been won by a particular state seems an insult to the athletics.
