Why can't we smell our organs and shit?

Look at all the humans around you. There's organs and poop and everything just a few centermeters if that inside of them, and yet they're odor-free! They're all bags of gunk and yet nobody's the wiser.

Yeah I think already thought of that basic question before. I think it's basicicaly just that your body is seals it amazingly well. Its also got a bunch of different kind of fluids in different compartments that mostly don't mix with eachother.

Insulation.

Epidermis. Dermis. Subcutaneous tissue. Muscle. A fuckton of other shit acting as a wall between that and the viscera serves to funnel that shit out of your body. If you're smelling it, you either need to wipe or you have serious medical issues.

Basically like people have been saying, there is a lot of packaging on the human body that keeps the outside stuff in. And whatever smells there are that you can sense, you quickly get used and no longer realize are there.

As far as feces, you can get a good whiff of what it potentially will smell like when someone passes gas and it makes it outside. Farts and feces smell inside to, they just havent had the chance to get out yet. Which is why you can hold it in and not let everyone smell it.

As far as organs, they don't really smell bad. Live tissue just smells like live tissue. Fresh organ meat doesn't have any particular awful smell (though some may beg to differ), and once anything is outside of the body the process of decay begins.

In other words, zombies prefer fresh meat.

Placenta has an odor to it. Made the mistake of sticking my face too close to one once. Smelled it even through my mask.
