I don't think the bank realized the fuck up straight away, so I'm assuming they had time to transfer it.

I don't know why they ran, as the precedent is there - IIRC just this year an Australian woman's bank account with the ANZ was accidentally credited with over AU$8million, which she spent a bit of before the bank realised, then they tried to take it back and she took it to high court and won.

Our police don't know the first thing about policing, the only thing they're trained to do are blocking off public roads with a small army of idiots and issuing drivers with tickets for not wearing seat belts, failing to display unpaid vehicle taxes & lack of vehicle safety stickers..fact is sometimes they'd have a hard time finding a pen to write the ticket even if they had one stuck in each nostril.

No offence Kirby, but there's absolutely no way of producing those numbers other than pulling them from your arse. The range of fluctuation on critical variables is really just too large to predict interest worth a shit.

P.S. If it's an international news story, it'll almost definitely by in USD, unless it says otherwise.

First off: I very much doubt it's USD dollar, as it was advertised on a New Zealand News source, as indicated by the .nz in the URL, as well as the language is English, so it's not translated and most likley the currency will not be converted.

It's not made up digits, depending on the bank and the precentage interest you can yield is very possible.

If you garner 3.2% interest at 3.73 million it will yeild 120k/yr just making money on it's own. for 200k/yr you will need a bank which provides 5.36% interest.

Revenue is they're highest priority here, not crime, crime uses up to much government resource.
High profile murder cases get ridiculous.
NZ police are world famous for falsifying evidence, & pinning the blame on the closest person in the vicinity even though they're innocent.
But its high profile & the public demand results...so?...they arrest anybody to shut the case and give the illusion of good policing.
