Recommend me a good horror movie.

Lately all of the new horror movies look pretty lame i'm not into the whole gore thing i want to be scared not disgusted although gore is allowed ofcourse the movie mustn't rely on it for frightening effect. I'm also not into the shakey camera kind of crap like that bullshit film paranormal activities. It was more funny than anything.

My preference goes out to movies with a story like The uninvited i thought that was a pretty nice one although any haunted house kind of thing will do.

I don't think you'll get scared, but you should enjoy the movie at the very least sense it's full of dark humor and witty lines. Probably the most unnerving thing is the house's ability to kidnap kids and have monsters and shit randomly appear.

The Intruders...its about aliens and alien abduction....I saw it for the first time at age 5...Im still scared of it to this day...and I face death almost daily in my normal life...shows you how scary this movie is.

Just saw a movie called nine dead. It reminded me a little bit of saw but it was pretty good. Basically it involves nine seemingly unrelated people who get kidnapped. They have to figure out why each person is their and the 1 gets killed every 10 minutes until they figure it out.

I really enjoyed Funny Games (2007), which is more psychological terror than anything else.

Also, Martyrs. A French movie, which is also psychological terror, I guess. Not really "horror", but pretty horrifying.

Event Horizon as a few have mentioned above is a good movie, its about a space ship and shit happens on it i think the crew goes crazy or somethin i forget.. also watch session 9, its a good one also.

I think that was the point, really - if they were a couple local hicks like in Deliverance or I Spit On Your Grave, or any of those other "local hicks kill unsuspecting tourists" movies, it wouldn't have the same effect.
