Fruits Basket
Every episode has made me cry, and they are not all sad tears. So much depth

Re: Fruits Basket
I can't figure out why so many people like this anime. Especially men... I love harems, but not reverse harems like FB or ranma. Fruits basket was just boring, and had like only one girl who was a tramp and wasn't even that attractive. I've definitely seen much better anime, and this was a waste of time.

Re: Fruits Basket
Well if you think about it, there are multiple fruits in the basket. Like, if it were a basket with a bunch of apples then sure, it's a fruit basket, but if it contains apples and grapes and whatever else then it really should be a fruits basket. That's my theory at least

Re: Fruits Basket
I've only ever heard it called a fruit basket, and I've never heard of a fruit basket containing only one kind of fruit
Grammatically speaking, you wouldn't make "fruits" plural because fruit in this case is an adjective describing the basket, and adjectives can't be plural.
It would be like saying "bricks house"
Wait why am I talking about this lol

Re: Fruits Basket
When transliterating English to Japanese, whenever there's a "t" in a word, they would usually use either "to" or "tsu" because they're the closest equivalent in their language.
That's why the second word is pronounced "basuketto". And saying "Furuto Basuketto" sounds kinda dumb out loud. I think they figured no one reading it would understand English anyway and just went with the one that flows better. And then when translating it back to English, the "tsu" was interpreted as "ts"
It's common in Japanese to do shit like that. For example, in movies where a character is supposed to speak English, they'll speak in a piss-poor Engrish accent and all the other characters will just be like "UWWAAAAA UR ENGLISH IS SO GOOD" and everyone just accepts it because no one in the audience can tell the difference

No.
And I'm pretty sure Tohru fell in love with Kyo, out of all the other men she was living with.

Nah, it was clearly Yuki who was her love interest. There was nothing other than a few comments by Tohru's friends to suggest her relationship with Kyo was anything but platonic. She was about to go on a date with Yuki once too.

I know an otaku guy that only watches that shit. He's never even watched dbz, yyh, nge,
Ols, or cowboy bebop.
He seriously wants to go transgender and acts very effeminate. He's straight but acts like a total faggot. He's also a weaboo that completely rejects western culture and social values. He even eats with chopsticks and squats when he takes a shit...

Fan service is like the single worst thing about anime (or western media for that matter (i.e. every awkward purposeless sex scene in every action movie ever)). That's one of the reasons that Fruits Basket was excellent, none of that crap with the possible exception of Haru.

Re: Fruits Basket
You must not be familiar with Strawberry Panic, fan service was probably pretty much the only reason that most who people watched it did.
