Help Me: Design and build an underground hideout.

For reasons I do not wish to share with the Internet, I have decided to design and build an underground hideout/tunnel system underneith an old skate ramp in my parents field. Without them knowing...
Having already see something along these lines on this website already I was hoping that the helpful community of Zoklet could be of some assistance in the design process.
I don't have a huge budget for the moment but that will hopefully change sometime soon.

My 'hideout' needs to be/have:
- At least big enough to stand up in (I am 1,80m tall)
- Have at least one main room big enough for 3-4
- Have one or two 'storage' rooms that measure two square meters
- some kind of ventilation system to avoid stagnation of the air
- A working electrical system for lights, a radio and possibly a few plugs for electrical instruments etc

Other criteria are sure to arise some time during the design :/

I basically want to know how deep to dig, what kind of materials to use an how to use them, for flooring, walls and ceiling.

Unfortunately- as intuitive as it sounds otherwise- the search function is quite horrid. Perhaps you could help locate and link the aforementioned threads here, or contribute previous or even novel information when you have the chance.

you're not going to be able to pull this off without someone noticing.


carving out an underground chamber through tunneling is many times slower than excavating from above, less safe, and will be harder to reinforce. Your best chance is to rent a blackhoe for a day and get 'er done.

That and electrical work is no easy task. It could be done, though most probably not with as much secrecy as one would desire. Then again, I can't imagine many technicians or others would particularly care so long as they are paid adequately. What are they going to do? Report you for giving them business? For all they know you're just using it for storage. Storage spaces need lights too, you know.

buy the sounds of it your rich enough to pay someone to build it for you.


also, if you have to ask you can't do it.
your not going to get detailed cad plans with air flow charts and a water filtration system.
