Obtaining a dihydrocodeine powder from CWE.

How can I do this??
I'm trying to stock up on codeine for a festival this weekend, however I don't want to store it in a bottle, I just want a powder I can easily carry around with me.

I've heard using acetone on the final solution of water/codeine can help crash out the solids to be collected later.
Is this plausible??
How else might I do it within the limits of 'kitchen' chemistry and a 2 day time period.

Can't you just CWE it, evaporate the water and collect what's left? Or am I missing something?

Yes but I'm trying to find quicker ways of doing it, I don't want to heat it on the hob as I won't be able to control the temperature well and I'm scared of destroying it (I think it's around 75C that it degrades?).

Don't like sounding like a junky, but would an oil or water bath work in a rice cooker??

I dont know but if you boil a pot of water and put a plate on top it will not reach over 100C and will evaporate quickly due to temperature and surface area.

Run a fan over it for bonus point.

This is how I get AN out of solution.

Apparently it's due to licensing issues cos the company who did own it got took over, so they had to reapply or some shit.

So we can hope eventually it's granted again.
