I'd like to point out that this is a fallacy, and I'm tired of hearing "money cant buy happiness". Since money is a form of power, it can and does affect very important aspects of life. It also literally makes you happy by releasing dopamine(ect) in the brain because its rooted into the reward pathways much like a drug, but that's besides the point.

If you have a ton of money then you are successful and powerful. Now that you are, you can focus your efforts on enjoying life instead of worrying about the remedial things like your 9-5. You can invest your efforts into forming and protecting your family. You can even take up a spiritual life of modesty, and put most of it in the bank/make large donations/financing your trip to the Himalayas. Why can you do all that? Because you're in control. People always strive for control in every aspect of life.

"money cant buy happiness" really means "I can be happy without money, although having it is a plus in every single aspect of life."

Money gives you control, and control makes you happy.
