A friend of mine was recently arrested and when I search the court logs it is not showing up. There are some records which say that electronic viewing is not allowed. Is it because it takes a certain amount of time to show up? I'm worried that it is hidden because of some sort of deal that he made. If he made a deal (snitched) is there a way to find this out?

How can someone go about doing this?

Is he still in jail? If so, check the county jail listings for his mug.

If he made a deal, they wouldn't take him to jail. He would sign papers and gonto work for the police. But I'm not sure.

If he made a deal, you won't be able to find out until he has a court hearing; in which case, of he did; it will show up as, "case dismissed or all charges dropped." and it would be initiated by the prosecutor.

Normally, when someone is arrested, you can go to the jail website and view the current day jail log; and see who was arrested and what they were arrested for. If he is not listed, either he never got booked, he is still in holding, or you typed his name wrong..

If he was arrested for a non violent crime, he would have been booked within a couple hours.

If he doesn't show up at all, I would be worried. If he tries to contact you I wouldn't answer unless you have nothing to hide..

I always though right as a person is arrested, if the police want them to become a CI, then it's done fast and that person doesn't go to jail. That's how it was done on that DEA show...they would say "make the decision to work for us now, or go to jail. If you go to jail, and people find out that you got busted, you won't be able to work for us."

Even if he's making cases, there will be an arrest record - there just won't be a conviction.

Call a bondsman. They want that money bad! so they will go the extra mile. Tell them you want to bail out your buddy but aren't sure how much it is.

If it isn't up by the time he gets his arraignment, they're just lazy, then.

This was friday/ saturday. I'm just seeing these messages that some things are hidden and are wondering if they would even make an electronic file for someone who has snitched. If it is not up in a week or two should I assume that theyre keeping it hush-hush?

He is out already somehow, even though I know he doesnt have the bail $$

He's already out, I found out too late. Maybe I could call and find out about past payments? know anything about that? (like who i would have to pose as, a reason I would need that info legitamately, what I should say)

How long ago is he out? hours? or days?.. If its hours, then the system hasn't caught up yet as Unwyred said. Days? well no idea.

Call an attorney, pose as the guy and ask them to pull your case.
