Default New PC so far

CPU: Intel i7-2600k /w Zalman Heat Sink.
GPU: EVGA GTX 570 HD 2560MB. (Zalman vf3000f aftermarket cooler, EVGA cooling sucks)
SSD: Corsair Force Series GT 240gb. (have a 300gb WD raptor for extra space)
MB: ASRock Z68 Extreme3.
RAM: G.skill Ripjaw DDR3 1600, 16gb (Remember when 256mb was epic?)
PS: SeaSonic M12II 620W.

Still shopping for a sound card.

Any critique/suggests/flames/trolls?

I looked into that before I bought the heatsink. I think I got it right, but it's good advice.

If it's not right, I own cutting devices lol

Nice Rig.

Operating System
MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
CPU
Intel Core i7 2600K @ 3.40GHz
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology
RAM
16.0 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK Computer INC. P8Z68 DELUXE (LGA1155)
Graphics
DELL ST2320L (1920x1080@60Hz)
DELL ST2320L (1920x1080@60Hz)
AMD Radeon HD 6700 Series (XFX Pine Group)
Hard Drives
1954GB Seagate ST2000DL003-9VT166 ATA Device (SATA)
977GB Seagate ST31000528AS ATA Device (SATA)
977GB Seagate ST31000524AS ATA Device (SATA)
313GB Western Digital WDC WD3200AAJS-00L7A0 ATA Device (SATA)
313GB Western Digital WDC WD3200AAJS-00B4A0 ATA Device (SATA)
Optical Drives
TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH-222AB ATA Device
Audio
Realtek High Definition Audio [5.1 Logitech Speaker System]

I plan to upgrade the RAM to 32Gb, and update the GPU. So, far NVIDIA seems like a good choice mainly from video editing point of view but it does limit the damn displays. With AMD I can add another display which I plan to the very near future.

Two more 2TB HDD's are planned as well.

Casing

PSU:
Antec True Power Trio TP3-650 650W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371001
Installed 3 fans (Cooler Master 120mm 1200rpm)

CPU Cooler:
Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6636
Have two fans installed.

Overall, I love this built.

I do dig the Nvidia 570 but I will probably wait for a year before upgrading anything.

Why are you using an expensive high-speed disk for extra storage? Keep all your stuff that needs high speeds on the SSD (maybe get a larger one?) and instead buy a 2TB drive for torrents and shit

No other use for it and it will probably be the last hdd I own given that SSD's are the future.

I think the difference lies in the fact turboboost will overclock an i7 (newer ones at least) more than i5s, and the i5 only supports 4 threads (where the i7 can have two threads per core)

Yes, if you never intend to do anything that could take massive gains from Hyperthreading. Not even close if the things you do can maximize Hyperthreading.

I think I might change it up a bit and put water cooling on the CPU and GPU. Might even do wiring sleeves and all kinds of ill shit.

It's really not at all. Some of the parts are a bit dated but it can still handle max graphics on every single game I own easily at 1920 x 1080. Runs a little warm though but never hot enough to cause problems.

Yeah, it's a pretty solid build.
