Default Legionnaires Disease cover-up

When this broke out, I was the first person in state government to know about it, since I worked in the press office at the time, and I kept close tabs on the AP wire machine in out office.

We immediately made a great show of being responsive and all--comandeered the Governor's Reception room and turned it into a 24/7 staffed press room.

My most important job was to get rid of the empty booze bottles, the gov being a tee-totaler. Cool thing was, I got to park my Porsche in the Lt gov's parking space (I worked the night shift).

More info:

Until the docs figured out what the deal was, speculation ran rampant.

We got a call one night from Dr. Jonas Salk--his theory was that it qwas a mutated polio virus. NO ONE outside of state gummint was told this, our rationale being that panic would break out otherwise.

There has just been a rather large infection of legionnaires disease in scotland recently from clouds of steam drifting across a city from an infected cooling tower, killed a couple of people and critically injured a couple dozen, too.

Btw, it turned out that the treatment of choice was this old, tried and true antibiotic--erythromycin, I seem to recall.

Question Re: Legionnaires Disease cover-up

Very interesting.
I do have an off topic question, the use of the word tee-totaler.
I have heard the word describing a person who drinks to much but yet the definition is someone who does not drink at all.
http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/teetotaler
Se I got into a disagreement with my mother awhile back, she insisted that the drunk down the street was a tee-totaler.
I simply stated that tee-totalers don't touch booze and she flipped and called me a moron and I didn't know what I was talking about.
Back on topic,I found this story on solar water heaters as potential breeding ground for Legionnaires Disease.

If i remember correctly, antibiotic treatment depends on how advanced the disease is within the body,

^Probably also varies with some other factors--age, general health, other drugs one uses.

Point I was trying to make is, erythromycin (or whatever) was the only thing that worked.

My aunt died of legionnaires disease.

Her immune system was already compromised by age, poor general health, and drug use. Erythromycin wasn't enough.

Also, where's the conspiracy, again?

Good. Thank God for these diseases, they eliminate faggots in our society. Always. People like me never get them. God bless the government for coverups. Now if only Greyfox or his whore ass wife would catch it.

As a general rule, germs are neither racist, nor bigoted, nor homophobic.

Some folks here could learn a lot from a germ.
