Default need help fixing my gun

i got all the parts, its slightly taken apart, and very fucking old.....like rediculously old.......its a iver and johnson arms and cycles gun and the pieces look basically like this:

http://www.gunpartscorp.com/catalog/...spx?catid=3852

when i got it, all it needed was a spring in the handle, but instead of taking it to the shop and spending 40$ i thought i would be a badass and attempt to fix it myself.

TOTAL FAILURE.....

All the pieces are there, except a piece i broke a piece that fell out of the firing mechanism somewhere, that looked like a wishbone.....it looks EXACTLY like this:

http://www.google.com/imgres?q=hamme...9,r:5,s:0,i:85

except i painted the grip purple and blue zebra stripes, because im an artist and whatnot, lol......dumb, i know.....

well anyways, i was wondering how i would go about fixing it??

i mean, it wont fire, if i pull the trigger, it will swing up the lil thing that hits the firing pin, but it wont put the trigger back into position....ill post pics in a few but any ideas wtf that wishbone looking piece was??

because after that shit fell out, it seemed to be QUITE fucked up....

thank you

It's probably the trigger spring, take it to a gunsmith.

Lol....Gunsmith, dude. It's gonna be too hard to explain how to fix. Everything will have to be done in a specific order, see. Take it in before you make it worse, brah.

Lol I have a really old Iver Johnson 12ga somewhere. It still works though.

If the images would load for me I could possibly tell you what to do to fix it.

thanks bro, im just trying to make some extra money on this one, perhaps even keep it in the family or something....

I did take it to the gunshop, the biggest one around here, i believe...

over the phone they quoted me 40-60$ since i have 99% of the parts, but once i actually showed up with it they quoted me 600$ to have it fully restored.
SEEMS A BIT STEEP!!

lol, they said its from around 1880 though, ill post pics, if nobody has any ideas on how i can fix this thing i might be willing to sell it to a trusted and well respected member....

any idea about the laws behind selling guns this old?

its basically an antique, its from around the civil war era.

Other than that I'd take it off your hands for a fair price if I could manage to get my restricted license in time and afford the various bullshit to get it across the border.

I'd like to see pics though.

Guns made before January 1899 are not subject to ATF rules. I'll buy it if you really want to sell. You can ship directly to me through the postal service most likely.

PM some pics of the missing parts if you are serious. What cartridge, btw? .32 or .38 S&W?

The really nice thing is that it looks almost identical to my Marlin 1887 (scads were based off the same design at that time period) that's missing a trigger cam. I got an idea of what part I'd need to make for it to work but yours would probably have it in there so I could just copy it.
