Like, you want to know what a résumé is and how to go about creating your own?

I kinda know what it is but what should be included and how long should it be. I'm applying for a trade job, not working on wall street or nothing.

It's, in short - a summary of your work life/accomplishments. Include where you went to school and graduated. All schools you graduated from. Include your military career if you have one - and include any sort of work experience you've done in the past that might be relevant/applicable to the job you're applying for. Keep it thorough but brief.

There should be a few sections: Objective, Work Experience, Education, Skills, Awards/Accomplishments.

The objective is where you summarize what you do and what you want in a job. You pretty much tailor this to what you're applying for.

The rest is self-explanatory. Also, you can google "sample resume" and get tons of results.

Na, that's reserved more for the interview. The resume is usually as barebones and utilitarian as possible. My objective would read something like "Highly motivated electrical engineer interested in acquiring a job in energy applications of plasma physics. Extensive research experience and coursework in the field will be utilized for blah blah blah blah".

And then just list the rest of the material. Some people talk about what they specifically accomplished at each job, but that isn't necessary.

You don't need an objective. If you're applying for a job, then your objective is to be hired.

If the employer wants to hear about your career goals or expectations, they'll ask. If you feel it's truly important, then include it in a cover letter.

I usually write a new one for each job I apply for, putting in only the parts that are relevant to that job. Relevance is important, if you're going for a job in a kitchen there's no point saying how good you are at computers or something. But as a general rule I usually have:

Schools I went to and grades I got

Previous work experience

Hobbies and interests that are relevant to the job

Stuff like that, not sure if it's much different over here than it is there

I never understood why an employer wouldn't hire someone for being over-qualified. I can understand if you expect more money, but I don't see why having a really good degree/education would be a bad thing.

Somebody enlighten me please?

It usually causes several issues. The money one for starters, but if someone with a master's degree or doctorate wants some entry-level position then you can pretty safely assume they just want the job for the short-term while they're finding another one. A good HR department tries to keep the turnover rate as low as possible.
