Default Re: China swimmer Ye Shiwen clean, says Olympic chief

yeah but with the widespread and systematic doping programs of the USSR and GDR, I think Soviet/Warsaw Pact medal counts arent legit.

To illustrate my point, look at almost every popular anabolic steroid in use today. Most of them were synthesized like 50 years ago and gained mainstream popularity from Soviet athletes using them at the Olympics (nandrolone, methandrostenolone, sustanon, etc)

The communists basically wrote the book on doping...

Maybe, I don't really care about Olympic medals so much myself. They are too often used by oppressive political regimes to justify their existence.

I find it interesting that doping is only really a big deal in the Olympics. Why is it that in professional sports, nobody cares? Haven't heard anyone complaining about football players being accused of being doped - as long as they play well, who cares? "Oh but the coaches would press athletes to do harmful drugs to win" - yeah, and if someone presses Rooney to do drugs that he doesn't want to do, he will just tell them to fuck off.

Bottom line: professional sports are superior in every way, the Olympics are a waste of time and money.
