Default Precious metals

Can it be expected that gold and silver will end up close to their price 10 years ago? Making them extremely shitty holders of wealth at this time?

Not really. I mean, there's a finite amount of silver in the world and we are going through it fast. Not everyone realizes this, but it's basically a necessity for any decent electronic. However, if anyone gets a good analog to silver, it's value will drop tremendously. Silver doesn't have value just as a "precious metal", it has a very real-world value to it for the tech industry.

They're real value IMO is that they are more or less recession proof. Gold and silver will always hold value, no matter what.

Silver no, its on the rise right now, it found support @ $26 which has been tested 4 times over the past 2 years.

Gold has found support at the 1525-1550 area for almost 12 months now and is forming a wedge pattern from the high of september 2011 to now and a wedge on Silver from the high of April 2011 to now, which is basically a compression of price like a spring which when explodes, expect it to move with some force depending on the direction which it breaks out. See the pic in the link below to see what I mean.

I couldn't see silver going below $20 anytime soon, unless something big happens. It's used in a lot of things and gas is required to mine it, gas prices probably won't drop...

Yes god damnit! Buy precious metals. Or any commodity that you can get your hands on.

Paper money ain't worth shit. I was on this site when people were saying "Don't buy gold it's already maxed at $900 an ounce!!!" and I would say "Buy all the precious metals you can to protect against inflation!"

What's gold at now? Yea, thought so.

Anyone who tells you not to buy precious metals is a buffoon. I've quadrupled my money in seven years. Those people still have savings accounts where their dollars become worth less and less. Do what you want.

I bought silver when it was $34 an ounce and then sold it when it was $48 an ounce. I spent about $3.5K buying it, made that money back AND made $1K in profit and I thought to myself "What a clever motherfucker you are."

THEN I took that $1K profit, bought silver at $39 an ounce, and it's down to $27. So I've got to wait for it to go back up to even make my profit back, which will take months, if it occurs at all. Now I think how my need to keep investing fucked me.

Although I'm pretty much sitting on silver that came at no negative cost since it was all profit, so I'm not as fucked as other people are.

Case in point, you better be ready to either have quick returns (buy then sell for minimal profit) or be ready to hold on to it for a while.

I love it when all is tragically lost in the blink of an eye.

I love it when you try to rustle my jimmies . . . Jimmy.

Too bad I still have all the silver and haven't lost any money. All not tragically lost. Nothing in the blink of an eye.

The United States going back to a "Gold Standard" (not that it ever truly was) just might be your only shot at a successful weight loss program.
