The canon of beauty is designed to make people attractive. Your facial muscles and superficial landmarks are all equal in some sort of way. You can use other body parts to measure other body parts. As age continues, you begin to sag and break and look worse. Your optic facial sulci will more defined, your labial folds will look less sharp, the cords of the neck will continue to droop. Age is nature's way of saying that the ship has sailed and your time is up. Old people are ugly and they wither away. Naturally they want to die. Like people who are derivatives of the canon of beauty/golden ration/etc.

It's not that beauty must equal in perfection, it's just naturally more appealing to look as perfect or healthy as possible. There are blueprints to it all, though. The mouth is supposed to be the length of two eyes, the width of the ear is supposed to be 2/3 of the length, from cheek to cheek (zygomatic bone to zygomatic bone, which are the key points to the widest portion of the face) are supposed to be five eyes wide.

Definitely referring to behavior. Our brain, ability to think, remember, and use that hand-in-hand with our body has allowed us to do tremendous things. Things that turned us from being just a mediocre animal into the apex creature of the world. Like most things it's a double edged sword. Thoughts, like Technology and everything else mans created, is completely neutral. Our thoughts, emotions, thinking structure, comprehension ability allows us to excel, but at the same time leads to actions that are not pure and those actions alter our mental state to reinforce those in-pure actions.

The way I see humanity right now is being in an inter-evolutionary cycle struggling to push forward to greatness and struggling to deal with our past which has brought us into the today.

You don't understand how people are supposed to look before they die, most animals are very healthy up until a few months before their deaths. It is our food and lifestyles that are slowly killing us, and the stress of trying to make a living. Who uses plastic surgery? Stop trying to put everyone into the same box, and I don't think it is a far stretch to say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
