Making a VM of a boot CD

I have a linux boot disk with utiltites used to fornetwork maintenance. I want to use virtualbox to create a virtual machine so I can run it inside of windows seven. I can get a VM to run off the disk but it requires the CD to be inside the disk tray; Im unsure of how to get it to run without having the disk.

Do I need to convert the contents of the CD to an iso first? I need a quick run down please

Load the Linux CD into RAM?

Put the Linux on a flashdrive and boot from that, with the other CD you need in the disc tray.
