Default Legend of Korra and the last airbender

Any fans of this show? I always find myself having to defend it because of peoples assumptions about nickelodeon cartoons. It is pretty badass though. very fluid animation ffight scenes based on real martial arts but showcasing superpowers based on the elements.

the last series was based on tribes and a sort of ancient china style culture (you know what I mean, Im no history buff or anything.

The new series is based on the 20 or 30's and close to the advent of things like the automobile. Again. Im sure it's colser to china or something in the 30 but ive been seeing alot of similarities between boardwalk empire in some ways (setting wise). i just think that maybe the creators were fans and it may have influenced there decision to do it further in the future instead of telling more stories of Ang and his buddies as adults. I do think we'll see some of that through do to flashbacks though. I do beleive that we saw glimpses of the other characters as adults in the latest episode though.

I became obsessed with The Last Airbender for a week after my free trial began for Netflix. Never left my house the whole time, and when it ended I felt as though a large portion of my soul had been torn from me, even though it was a happy conclusion

I'm enjoying Legend of Korra, it's not moving fast enough for my liking but it's still better than watching ten minutes of Dragonball Z action over the course of three hours real-time. My only real complaint is that... it just isn't the same.

I think tLoK is written by the same folks who wrote the last airbender. In their last show, quality was top-notch. Some filler episodes, as are to be expected from any anime, but all-in-all they had excellent character development. Really, I cannot emphasize this enough; character development is rare theses days in any genre. Also had to love the voice talent; a lot of american voice actors have a hard time doing the anime style without coming off as over-the-top; avatar never had that problem.

It's too early to say if tLoK will live up to the same standards as avatar, but it looks promising so far.

Wow, I didn't realise tLoK was airing, but then I'm in the UK so.

Last Airbender is one of my favourite shows ever. If M.Night didn't shit all over the film it could've been on par with star wars IMO.

Characters aren't quite as likeable so far (Xept for tensen ), but I'm liking is anyway.

AT one point I wondered about the possibility of the masked guy being fire lord ozai.
