is anyone bored of their gun?
has anyone here bought a gun and become really bored of it? or otherwise regretted their purchase?
going shooting next week to try a few guns out.
im right on the fence of dropping 1-2k on a hand gun or rifle. But the nearest rifle range is 1 or 2 hours drive, the nearest handgun range is a 30-40 minute drive, and im worried i might get bored of owning it from lack of use or laziness. Anyone have any insight?

Re: is anyone bored of their gun?
I like all my guns, there were a few i sold, because they were impulse buys that i regretted.
Also 1-2k is a huge range of money, you could get a good pistol and a good rifle for that, with plenty leftover.

yeah thats also what im debating
if i was getting a pistol i would limit myself to 1000ish
probably a usp or glock
if i was getting a rifle i would limit myself to 2000ish so that would probably end up being:
a robinson xcr
or an ar15 + a pistol
( guns are more expensive in canada )

Please don't get an XCR.
A mil-spec AR-15>XCR and 1000 dollars cheaper.

Re: is anyone bored of their gun?
I see guns as toys so i get bored and need to buy something else. my Walther p22 saves me money but its so boring to shoot. i usually rotate my Beretta colt 1911 and 5-7. depends on what sales i can score on ammo to be honest.

I know the ar is a way better bargain, but being in canada, the ar is 'restricted' meaning that i cant shoot it, or take it anywhere except to an approved shooting range.
The xcr also doesnt have to be registered so its completly off the records

Re: is anyone bored of their gun?
The worst gun I ever bought was a Savage .22. I was on my way home from work and I went into Sportsmans, stood at the gun counter for about 20 seconds and then asked the salesman to write up the cheapest .22 they had in stock (total impulse buy).
I shot it for like 2 weeks and gave it away. I went back and got a Ruger 10-22 a few weeks after that. I will probably never own another Savage because of my experiences with their .22 (plus my buddy has a Savage .270 that sucks balls).
I consider myself lucky though, it was only a $100 mistake

Considering who makes I'm sure the stovepipes and failure to feed malfunctions would get really boring, really fast.

Lol I thank 5.56 for steering me clear of that sw 1911 at cabellas. That guy tried to sell me a junk gun.

Re: is anyone bored of their gun?
Actually it was a SIG, which would've been even worse. It was funny as shit how mad that salesman got when I was telling him how that SIG was a bag of dicks.
Your Colt is the shit, you know I would've opted for the full size but you picked the best pistol that fit your criteria. You put anymore rounds through those Wilson mags?

Re: is anyone bored of their gun?
I never bore of my guns... I know they're there when I need them for what I need them for. A tool doesn't become so much as boring as it just needs a different job to do.
Also there's allot of rifles out there in Canada for the $2K price range that would be high end and full of drooling potential.
Are you interesting in semi autos only or does anything go?

Re: is anyone bored of their gun?
I think for the time being ill be looking for a semi auto, closest ourdoor gun range is over an hour away so a bolt action wouldnt be too much fun.
Im thinking i might just build an ar

Get into long range shooting if you want some fun.
You said you're Canadian so where you at fella? I might be able to let you try out some of my collection to see what you might be into.
