Chronicle = Good ass movie.

I really liked this movie. I was entirely captured by what was going to happen next, and how the characters were going to end up. What I loved most about the movie was the philosophy behind it. You have a socially inadequate kid (Andrew) in high school, who is a nobody. Who gets bullied constantly. Then you have the well-liked football player (Steve) who is favored by everyone of his peers (even the loner kids). Then you have the cocky (Matt) who is reasonable and popular. Just 3 normal guys you'd expect out of any high school. In the beginning, you feel very little for the characters. All we know is that 3 kids stumbled across a superpower.

The the movie brings forth many philosophical questions. I loved the philosophical theme of the movie. It subtly questions if whether "humans are beings of pure will", mentioned early in the movie. And later, it mentions the idea of the Apex Predator--how it does not need to feel guilt when it kills a weaker being. It shows how volatile powers can get when two people disagree, may it be about super powers, economic or political powers.



It starts off innocently and it seems reasonable to what the kids were doing--trolling people with their superpowers, fighting back at bullies, impressing your friends. But how much is too much? Later in the film, it shows how much destruction it can cause, and can even become part of you, even if you don't want it to. They start realizing that they need rules, and whether if they deserved to have such power.



I won't get too much into it, but it's basically a story about 3 kids who stumble across a super power, and their rise and fall, and how it affects their friendship. Two of the kids (Matt and Andrew) tend to use it for humorous and mischief, while the loner kid (Andrew) uses his powers for much darker purposes.

I liked it too, i thought the ending was kind of corny though. They could have done a lot more with the movie imo like better fight scenes but overall i thought it was pretty great.

Some of the SFX were pure garbage, like the magic trick with the balls. Looked like a 5 year old did the animations on that.
