Exclamation Newb chemistry question.

I'm not sure how I can answer this, as the numbers are too big for my calculator. I would really appreciate it if someone that isn't here to insult or troll me that knows a thing or two about chemistry could help me figure out some answers here. I'm doing really well in this course, but I can't seem to figure out this part. Here are the questions. Major thanks to anyone smart enough to determine the answers, and showing me how they came to them. Thanks again in advance if anyone can help me.

2. How many molecules are there in each of the following cases?

a) 3.5 x 10-5 moles of glucose, C6H12O6

b) 3.5 x 105 g of lithium oxide, Li2O

c) 3.5 mL of gaseous helium, He, at NTP conditions

d) 3.5 x 103 L of carbon dioxide at 35 °C and 80 kPa.

The material on the online site seems very vague in this particular section, and I'm not sure how to determine the answers for these. I know zoklet is a terrible place to try to find serious answers, but whenever I've come to flasks and beakers before, everyone seemed a lot more mature than the rest of zoklet. I'm expecting some flames, but it would be awesome if one of you was smart and kind enough to show me how to get to the answers here. Also, if someone provides mis-information on purpose, could a mod delete the post if they know their stuff about this topic? Thanks guys.

Default Re: Newb chemistry question.

I just finished an elementary chemistry class with a passing grade

Anyway, I believe for your first question, you multiply the moles you have there with Avagadros number (6.0221415 × 10^23).

For the second, you convert grams to moles, then do the same as above.

For the third, you want to do an ideal gas law conversion (PV=nRT). Since its STP, it should be pretty straight forward to fill in those variables.

And for the last, its the same formula as before, but your volume, temperature, and pressure are obviously different than STP.

Anyway, what I've just said could quite possibly be total malarky and the perhaps the reason why I didn't get a stellar grade. Caveat emptor.

For future reference, I doubt JP will do that and I know for sure I wont. It's not the moderators job to determine valid info, it's the the users. The only response you'll see from a mod is them calling bullshit the way any regular user can and should.

Hey guys, it's my first time checking this thread since I made it, but I ended up completing that assignment last night and figuring it out. Sorry for wasting your time. Thanks for trying to help me though (guy up there) and thanks for explaining that to me (Bunghole)
