You ever skate a pool board? Theyre basically an old school board condensed into a 9x32 inch frame and without any weird shape to the tail. Just a very elevated and snubbed out shape for the tail. This photo sucks ass at accurately showing off its dimensions since this board was toasted when I took this photo but yar, pool board



That boards from when I was real young but either way, they have a fantastic flow to them when riding and they can pull off any normal skate trick and even help you greatly with ones you couldnt do on a normal board. With the tail being wider and more pronounced it gives you more pressure and more room to find a sweet spot when throwing any trick. Same goes for the concave running down the board, its really flat in the middle with elevated and really pronounced shape on the sides. Gives you tons of an advantage to throw shit with more pop or with more spin. Especially since it's not like overly concaved skateboards because the width itself leaves a perfect flat gap in the middle.

If i had a choice id always rock santa cruz's and alva pool boards. Theyre just typically a rarity to find unless buying online.

Tellin me what I can do? Unless you're riding mountains on your longboard doing 40mph+ with full pads, skateboards go plenty fast. However, balls are required. AKA most people calling themselves "longboarders" don't have the skill for it.

I love that this has turned into a longboarding discussion. Anyway longboarding imo is the fastest way to travel around without a motor. I don't even use mine for travel that much, but damn it makes it fun to get wherever I'm going. As long as the trucks are loose you can pull some interesting maneuvers as well. I'm biased though cause I never got into skating, but for bombing its 100x smoother and you can't really carve with a skateboard.

I really doubt I'll buy a longboard. If anything I'll buy something like what error said for bowl/pool riding, since every park here pretty much has 2-3 bowls.


I also don't wanna distract myself from what I'm trying to do on a skateboard; finally got my 180/pop-shove its down pat, and I almost got the fucking kickflip but I think if my board was a little less wide it would be easier to get it to flip faster (currently on an 8.38).
