Default What car to buy 7-10k budget.

Only thing I want is not a truck or SUV a sedan.
I plan to put a really nice sound system in it. Anyone know how much a top of the line system with a touch screen monitor will set me back or have suggestions on what brand?

Get a Saab 9-5 aero with a 5 speed and a documented service history and you'll have plenty left over for a sound system and repairs

Saab? 7-10k is more than enough for a decent BMW. You could get an older 5 series and fill it with speakers. Couldn't tell you which sort of deck to get, I've had good luck with JVC in the past but never have had a touch screen.

I don't really like the look of that car at all.

I was thinking something like this but I don't want it to look old like I'm trying hard to be baller but kinda poor still. Anyways I'd have to buy a much older one with more miles and the repair costs would be high because it's a BMW.

Who cares how cheap it is? Buy a cheap old one and you'll have more than enough to fix it up. I've got the oldest of the old and it's both cheap and reliable - so far. For me, repair costs are maybe a few hundred dollars. Granted you must do the work yourself so you might be fucked there if you can't do this or make key friends fast.

I'm actually kind of a troll, there's 8 tons of choice for you and I threw out an obviously better choice than a Saab (sorry ChinaCat). I think you have to be more specific about your general tastes, where you live and so forth for anybody to be of help to you. Show us what you like.

Alright I'm leaning towards a more dependable boring car now because I figure I'll buy this one then use it until it has no worth left or next to none and then get a really nice car because by then I'll have been on a college salary for about 5-8 years.

So I'm kind of thinking around the Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic type shit but we will see. I do like the Scion TC a lot and I do kind of want to just save a bit more and get a 350z but we will see.

Ive always been in love with the 300ZX

You could certainly get one in your price range, its a quick little car, looks sleek and ive known a few people who onwned them, they had nothing but good things to say about them.

Something new enough that runs well, with low miles, but old enough so that it doesn't have the computer chip in it.

There's nothing wrong with fuel injection you fool. Pretty much all cars since the 80s have a "computer chip" in it, electronic ignition timing is way more efficient than carburation or even mechanical injection

A highly unlikely scenario, herp derpity derp derp derp. I kinda figured you'd throw up some crackpot shit, I doubt we'll need to worry about emp attacks any time soon.

I liked that 'last' 300ZX until I drove it. Uncomfortable, shoddy gearbox, porky as fuck. It took me about 2 minutes on the test drive to decide. Hell, the N/A automatic supra (mk3 or whatever, late eighties) drove better. I realize that the one I drove had wear and tear..... so does everything else. My favorite thus far is an '88 RX-7. Mileage sucks and it's a bit spartan but it's tiny and light compared to the 6 cylinder jap-muscle cars.

Personally I'd buy a C4 'Vette, impractical I know. I still think it's more important to get a good price on a car than anything else. I would daily anything if the price was right.

vw TDI if you can find one.

And ate, when i choose to buy a vehicle, i'll be more concerned about efficiency than how well the car will hold up to an emp. When all the other cars are dead on the highway, how are you going to drive it anyway?

Probably more threatening that ate noticed this forum, where opinions are sometimes strong but facts still rule.

I'm not an alarmist but it's possible that cars will have to deal with emp, however I don't take that into consideration when buying one.

It's more that I hate the driving nannies and butlers themselves. Soon people will be able to leave their hand on their crotch between lights, progress!

I'll strip it down so it's light enough to carry on my back.

I'll have those drop-down rail-road wheels like on the front and back of some trucks. Holla.
