The demographics have changed. We have more Blacks and Hispanics, which have lower IQs, and therefore earn less. Herrnstein and Murray found that when you account for IQ, differences in earning between groups disappear. I made a thread about differences between genetic populations ("races").

Canada for example is only %2 Black and %1 Hispanic. Most of their non-Whites are North East Asian, which can have higher IQs and lower crime rates than Whites. There are also selection biases, some countries only allow in intelligent, educated immigrants who have jobs lined up.

The Nordic countries are about 95% White and NE Asian at a minimum. Not only that, but Denmark, for example, is about 90% native Danish, which gives a stronger benefit of homogeneity.

How do non-Asian minorities, such as Muslims and Africans, do in the Nordic countries? Look for yourself:

If anything the welfare state seems to make things worse. But to be fair, we must keep in mind selection biases, an immigrant is not an immigrant, a Somali is not a Somali. It's possible that the immigrants that are allowed into the Nordic countries as "refugees" are less intelligent and driven on average than the ones who choose to immigrate to a place like the US, there may be higher standards for those let into the US. Still, I think this well demonstrates that the welfare state is not a magical cure, and that the ideas that leftists have for improving the state of non-Whites and non-NE Asians are unrealistic.

Besides the blatant numerical, organizational, and technological advantages the US military would have over a hypothetical "EU military" that have already been mentioned, it is important to consider the role of public opinion in influencing whether or not a developed liberal democratic nation will actually mobilize for a major war. While I don't want to say Americans are more enthusiastic warmongers than Europeans nowadays, it's not a stretch to argue that American public opinion would be much easier to effectively mobilize and exploit militarily than European public opinion. It would seem the European public is considerably more hesitant to go to war while Americans can often justify any doubts with appeals to patriotism and/or its self-proclaimed ideological obligation to "defend" their notion of democracy (liberal capitalism).

First of all, stop acting as if the EU army is this made-up thing that could never exist, the wheels to get it made are already in motion.

I'll concede that the US would have a technological advantage but the organizational and numerical advantage is just plain wrong. To say the US's army would be bigger than the combined army of all the EU is ridiculous and you claiming the US military would be better organized is just presumptuous. Historically Europeans are the most violent warmongering assholes around (that's where you Americans get that trait from lol). EU military leaders would be just as experienced as yours.

Your last point about support at home for the war is true I would think, but kinda moot as there's so many reasons this war couldn't actually happen it's not really worth mentioning (Europe's biggest military's are all in NATO with the US for one).
