I would advise against this. You might kill yourself at the end of ME3.

ME3 doesn't have an ending, notes Rolf. Or something resembling final boss fight, adds Rolf.

Mass Effect consists 95% of shooting massive hoardes of endlessly spawning enemies. The 5% story is good, but not enough to compensate for the boredom and monotony of killing half the galaxy every mission.

It is basically Gears of War with less oversized meat head morons and 5% more story, agrees Rolf. Does not compare to earlier Bioware games but it is still worthy of enjoyment, adds Rolf.

I never understood the mass appeal of the Mass Effect franchise. Laggish controls in a 3rd person shooter with sub-par AI controlled squad members, shoddy RPG mechanics and extremely repetitive gemeplay overall. But probably the worst part of it all is the Hollywood style "bro" story the game tries to push like it's some sort of artistic and intellectual high ground within the video game industry. If the Mass Effect trilogy was a movie instead of a video game, Armageddon & Avatar fans would praise it beyond divinity. Whereas proper movie critics would likely shit themselves from the ludicrous amounts of sarcasm and cynicism used to describe this piece of shit bro-tale that calls itself a story.

Space opera? Nigga please.

Beagle, has one ever told said beagle that said beagle tends to take video games too seriously? asks Rolf curiously.

Snoopy, the game does go a little deeper than say Avatar. I admit that sometimes it is as deep as a milksaucer (SHEPURD GUUD REAPUR BAD) and at times it's downright retarded (Shepard dies, resurrected at beginning of second game) but at other times it does make you question your decisions (although that's debatable, because in the third game it doesn't matter for shit). What really sets it apart, is how well thought-out the whole universe is. They came up with an explanation for nearly everything in the game. They gave every race a unique culture etc. What I liked is that for once humans aren't the central point of the galaxy. Though they fucked that up as well in the third game. Some people find that the first game was lacking in action, and Bioware fixed that at the cost of the RPG-element. The third game had action and tried to cater to the RPG-fans as well, but both elements had to suffer for it.

Kipo, When you're done with the series, you're going to feel really, REALLY screwed over.

I'm going to give you one spoiler: the third game ends with "Don't throw away your savegame, there's DLC coming".

Pissed me off.

Short answer? Yes.
Long answer? Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees.

The first DLC was released at the exact same time the actual game came out (day one DLC). This includes an extra character and costs 10 bucks. Most people bought it, seeing how it is quite a big part of the story. What you get though is one of the worst characters in the Mass Effect-series (though ME3 already fucks up in that regard) and an extra quest that takes about 25 minutes tops. Without the DLC you have 6 squadmates to join you, with DLC you have 7. Compare that to ME2, where you had 11 squadmates (including DLC) to join you. The DLC was actually worth it too, the missions were good and the extra characters were interesting.

It also turned out that the Extended Cut DLC had been planned all along. They're going to give it away for free, and say they always intended to do so. However, the announcement that it would be free came right after EA getting a prize for being the worst company in America.

Since we're on the subject and Sir Rolf is present I feel compelled to ask...

Sir Rolf are you indeed a paragon as your tag "A Paragon? Asks Rolf." implies?
