Re: Best movie of 2012?
Why does everyone like the Avengers so much? I was a little disappointed when I saw it, usually comic books make for better movies. The new Spider-Man was better than the Avengers, and Batman is the best movie so far this year.

Nolan is not a "good" director. He's a competent director. There is a difference.

Why does everyone like Nolan so much? He's what you'd call a "thinking man's director" if you were a Michael Bay fan and what you'd call a director if you were anyone with half a brain.

Moonrise Kingdom
awesome movie and guaranteed to get you laid if you bring a date (which might be too much to ask for most of you)

I don't know about where you guys love, but it's not that hard to pick up a date, most of the time I just head down to the local supermarket during work hours on baby benefit day.

Re: Best movie of 2012?
Ok I'm in the movie theater now, and I brought a date. What do I do now? I'm pretty nervous. Trying to type this with screen brightness turned down so nobody knows what I'm up to.
Sent from my iPad.
Edit:
How do I make my move; do I just take it out of the bag and offer it around to people?
Update:
Ok guy, I don't know what your angle is but this isn't working for me.
I moved places and sat down in the unoccupied seat next to a pretty girl with a stacked chest using mad skills like Sam from Splinter Cell. I waited for the right moment on screen to pull my move - a cute scene with a little girl giving a little boy a kiss on the cheek, and tried to pull the date out subtley - I figure I may as well 'try' with a pretty girl when something cute is on the screen, you know? Well the plastic bag made too much noise and she noticed me rustling around in my pants pocket, next thing I produce California's finest, a big brown wrinkled semi-dried date and she SHREIKS at the top of her lungs "Dis nigga be pullin out his JOHNSON!!!" next thing I know her FRIENDS stand up and make a blockade around me, trying to seize my pants, pants get torn down around my knees and in the scuffle I lost the date under the seats somewhere.
I tried to explain, but nobody cares to listen. I'm currently being transported to the watchhouse, with my belongings, minus the date. They said I'd get plenty of action 'up the date' in here. I am beginning to think by that they mean to imply there could be a second meaning to the word!
What do I do??

Re: Best movie of 2012?
Dark Shadows is my fave so far, Avengers a close second. Have yet to see TDKR.
Note: I used to watch the old reruns of DS on SciFi back in the day so I was familiar with story elements, I like Burton's shooting style and I have a raging manboner for Depp.
I've said too much.

Re: Best movie of 2012?
It sure as hell wasn't The Avengers. God, what an awful movie. The plot was terrible, all the characters except Iron Man were shallow, cliche, or boring, and the action scenes weren't unique or particularly interesting.
I don't know why it's rated so highly. Standards must be low.

Haters gonna hate. It was a movie about super heroes fighting off an alien invasion. Quit fucking complaining.

Re: Best movie of 2012?
Marvel Avengers was a good movie. Although, I don't believe it was the best. I think The Dark Knight Rises was one of the best in 2012.

Re: Best movie of 2012?
The best movie I've seen at a cinema would probably be TDKR.
Excision was also really good.

I just don’t think it’s elevated. Christopher Nolan’s best movie is Memento, and that is an interesting movie. I don’t think his Batman movies are half as interesting though they’re 20 million times the expense … A superhero movie, by definition, you know, it’s comic book. It’s for kids. It’s adolescent in its core. That has always been its appeal, and I think people who are saying Dark Knight Rises is ‘supreme cinema art,’ I don’t think they know what the fuck they’re talking about - David Cronenberg

I always thought that was a pretty good quote
