scalded
Old married folks are said to become like each other, but I may have taken it too far.
Last night on the phone, my wife told me she had been scalded by a leaky hot-water bottle. (We maintain separate households.)
A few minutes later after I hung up, darned if I dodn't scald myslef, in a rather freakish accident.
I don't have running water in my cabin--eat off paper plates and bowls, but I like to use real silverware. After use, I put the stuff in a coffee mug full of water. When I get three of four pieces, I wipe them off, heat clean water to boiling in the microwave, dunk'em and wipe'em again. The cup then goes up on top of the fridge, which is right by the door. (It's a small cabin, 10x12 feet or so.)
Anyway, when I went out to lock my car up for the night, I manged to somehow knock the thing down, and got some almost boiling water on myself.
Hurt like a bitch, but I just took some Aleve and went to bed. This morning, the redness was mostly gone.
At the time though--what a rush!

Re: scalded
That's what you and your wife get for wanting to be Native Americans. Didn't you know God hates Native Americans? He likes to punish them with "fire water."

Re: scalded
Reality is always messing around, as it does what it do to be what it is.
With hot water burns it's very important to remove any clothing that holds the hot water. It's obviously stupid to keep cooking one's flesh when removing the heat source would be smart. Hard to think when you're cooking though.
The next thing is to use cool/cold water to abuse the heat.

Having gotten loaded for the first time on New Years Eve, 1953 or so and survived the sixties and spent years as a small-time dealer and later a commercial pot grower, it would be difficult to list them all.
I have had very little if any experience with needles, heroin, E, emth, and have only small experience with the host of quasi-legal rc's on the market now.
Prescription and/or otc drugs I have taken recently include Timolol, terazocin, Combigan, hydrocodone, valerian, loperamide, generic xantac, and a few others (for my glaucoma) I can't recall offhand. Oh, and my personal doc was talking about putting me on Cymbalta, for my ME/CFIS.

Agreed. I had the presence of mind to strip off my soaked shirt immediately, and apply a cold can of diet cola to the afflicted area.

Re: scalded
i once dropped a boiling hot curry, straight out of the microwave, onto my foot.
by the time i got my sock off the damage was done.
two or three weeks of bleeding/oozing into my shoe, it was not nice at all. scaldings are so much worse than cuts or grazes, or burns even! feel for you.

Re: scalded
Once more, I am thankful for the "ignore" option.
I have no idea what the preceding few posts said, but I doubt it would be worth the time and effort to remove the posters from my ignore list to see.
