Re: Shoegaze.
Shoegaze, fuck yeah!
Not sure if metal-shoegaze hybrid counts too, but I think this stuff sounds good.
Actually, I'm making a lot shoegaze myself at the moment. When I have something decent, I'll return and let you guys have a listen.

I think m83 is shoegaze. If not, enjoy!
Too bad youtube removed nearly all of the good songs...

Re: Shoegaze.
I'm actually quite surprised by the amount of people who like shoegaze. Most people over here don't know it, let alone like it.

Re: Shoegaze.
A Triumph for Man, and Half the World is Watching me, by Mew I love these albums. Since no ones posted them yet, I'll make up for it.
Supercar and hammock are really good shit too. I bought most of their CD's. They are absolute essentials if you like shoegazing. Though some of Hammocks albums are ambient and/or post-rock. I forgot which albums they did shoegaze and dream pop on, but check out anything from 2006-2008, and the EP's.

Re: Shoegaze.
In fact, The Jesus and Mary Chain are considered one of the pioneers of shoegaze, especially the album which features that song: Psychocandy.
Think of it like... The Velvet Underground pioneered some drone and grungy psychedelia.
Hunter S. Thompson pioneered Gonzo journalism.
And so on.

The most commonly cited precursors to shoegazing are Cocteau Twins,[7][8] The Jesus and Mary Chain, and My Bloody Valentine.
