HOUSTON – It may sound like science fiction, but identity theft experts warn thieves could be using your cell phone to steal your credit and debit card numbers. Worse, they warn, you may never know it happened.

Now, I know that local news is pandering to grandma and stay-at-home moms, but come on, how stupid do average people have to be to not be aware of this? I mean shit, this is hardly new.

Now how they do it is the question, you know just for information.

this is what I heard...

People use a service like SpoofTel(or another phone number spoofing service), and then spoof the number of the same number they are calling to get into the voice mail(which can lead to other options).

They may have to alter the phone number slightly(like placing certain characters(*, #) and a number...depending on the carrier.

Why get a credit card at all. If you need some extra money to spend take a credit on your bank account for which you have an atm card. Can't use that without a PIN.
