I'm sorry but it just looks too...pixilated for me to enjoy, tell me what exactly is so good? Some of the above designs are absolute poo poo in comparison to ones i have seen made by others:

^You can think my screenshots are shitty or whatever you want I didn't post here to impress anyone, but if you don't already realize it the designs you are comparing mine to were obviously built by multiple people who were probably using creative-mode. Everything in my screenshots was built by myself alone, in survival-mode, meaning I had to actually create every single brick my buildings are made out of, I had to make the paper to make the books to make all the bookshelves in my library, I had to search the nether to find the nether-wart for my nether-wart farm, battle all sorts of monsters to gain the ingredients for my potions, mined tons of iron ore and coal to make my enchanted armor and tools, and had to search for special chests to get the pumpkin and melon seeds to start my farms with because you cannot find them anywhere else in the game.

I haven't seen any screenshots of anything you've built. All you've compared my stuff to are creative-mode group builds that you had nothing to do with yourself. Creative-mode is very easy. Having a group of people help you build something in creative-mode is even easier. Talking out of your ass is even easier, and that's all you've done here.

BTW minecraft is not an old game, and it's hardly even a 'game'. You don't like the way it looks? Well it was never intended to appeal to you. It wasn't churned out like every other new game in the "gaming industry" trying to be the next big hit. Those are the games which appeal to you, and you know why those games appeal to you? Because you are a S-U-C-K-E-R.

Added a mushroom farm in my basement, with lights that can be turned off to allow the mushrooms to grow, and then turned on again to check for monsters and to harvest the mushrooms:

Yeah I was talking about survival mode too when I made this thread. Creative mode is boring especially if you're just playing by yourself. Survival mode is fucking awesome however and even more awesome when playing with other people.

Well they only grow in low level lighting, so mobs can sometimes spawn in the farm if it's really dark. That's why I added windows and the redstone lamps. But basically you place one mushroom and eventually others will sprout up around it. A while ago they limited the amount of mushrooms that will grow in a given space, I think 5 is the most you can get before you need to harvest, using roughly the same sized rooms that I used.

An easier way is to just make giant mushrooms and cut them down, but you need to find a large enough space underground for it to work.

I decided to build a fortified, self-sufficient version of my house on the server. I used creative mode because I am tripping and felt like it.
