Default Care to tell me how i did on my build?

Figured id make a thread about my first pc build from about a year ago. Tell me what you think. (I knew absolutely nothing about computers at the time......still dont.)

CPU:Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz

GPU:EVGA SuperClocked 01G-P3-1563-AR GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 (bought aftermarket fan)

MB:ASRock Z68 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

RAM:G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

Hard Drive: Brand escapes my mind...only 700 gbs.

Operating System: Windows 7 home 64 bit

I have a coolermaster case .....ill update on which one tomorrow when i can think properly.

I dont currently have a sound card...if anyone cares to throw me at a good one. Also my monitor is very outdated along with my speakers....and keyboard....and mouse. Plan on upgrading all of them just dont know what kind of monitor, sound card or speakers too get.

Decent build. Go with Creative or Asus sound card, anything around the 150 dollar range is pretty tits.
I would get a faster Hard Drive too and set that 700gb bad boy up as a file storage drive.

Yeah that's a pretty sick build, I wouldn't get a Creative sound card though, unless you can find an old X-Fi series card for cheap. I have an old PCI X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro I paid only $25 for and it's fucking AMAZING, but good luck finding one for as cheap as I got it for. Only reason mine was so cheap was I got it from a parts vendor who didn't realize what he had.

If I was gonna buy a new sound card and pay good money for it, I would get a PCI-Express Asus Xonar. I hear they have better driver support than Creative. Although if you're gonna pay like $150 it probably doesn't matter.

It is good, aside from the processor. I don't use Intel, but I do know the i5 is a little dated, and is heavily outperformed by processors that are not much more expensive.

Other than that, it is pretty solid as long as you're not trying to play the absolute most graphics intense games on max settings.

The i5 is still a modern processor, it's just not Intel's high end. Honestly there isn't much you would really use an i7 for anyway. People talk about CPU limited games but what are they? Minecraft? An i5 will handle minecraft easily. If you're doing some real heavy lifting processing you should probably offloading it on your GPU anyway. And I'm an AMD person myself, but Intel always outperforms, on the benchmarks at least.

Almost all the i7s and several i5s perform better than even AMD's top of the line consumer proccessor. I wouldn't say that the i5-2500K (the high end of the i5 line) is "heavily outperformed" by anything AMD has, and not even really by the i7s, esp. considering for threaded operations seeing at the 2500K has 8 logical cores.

When I said "heavily outperformed", I was talking about other Intel processors. Although I have to admit, I can't say I am a real expert on Intel. I am a total fanboy of AMD.

Creative make good sounds cards.

Get a cheap Dell 1080p monitor, they've always been good to me.

Would've gone with 16GB of memory, since it's cheap and awesome.

CPU = good. Sandy bridge, quad core, 3.3GHz, Intel. All good.
