pay someone to drive you around
If you wanted to pay someone an hourly rate to drive you and friends around, do you need to add them as a driver on your insurance policy?
I need a cheap chauffeur

Re: pay someone to drive you around
thats a bummer, why even buy a nice car if you can't get driven around in it
your going to go broke making it happen or have to ride in some shitty greassy taxi cab anyway

Re: pay someone to drive you around
Adding them to insurance depends on how much they drive. Its called "car insurance" not "driver insurance." If they only occasionally drive, you dont need to add them, but they drive a lot, they need to be on the policy. Your insurance company should be able to tell you the threshold between an occasional driver and a secondary driver

Re: pay someone to drive you around
Having covered the facts on insurance, let's get down to the nitty gritty: OP fails at cars. Why the hell would you buy a nice car only NOT to drive it, unless you're buying the wrong car/are a pansy.
If you bought a Porsche, would you seriously pay someone to drive it for you? Do you carry your balls around in a man-purse too??

you know that was exactly what i was thinking when i first read this. i like driving. about the only time i prefer someone else to drive is if i want to smoke some gear in the back, but i can just pull over and do that anyway. i've even done it a couple of times while driving along motorways and was too far from an exit, especially if in a jam. if i was really that rich and needed to be driven around, maybe like if you had a bitch with you, then i'd just hire a limo for the day, fuck paying a driver full time for something i enjoy doing.

Then don't drink you damn fool. Driving a Porsche is much more fun than drinking full stop, though if you're an alcoholic I can't really help you.

Re: pay someone to drive you around
i don't know if they have this where you are op, but my company has an account with this service called uber, which you basically just activate their app on your smartphone, it shows your location and it gives their nearest driver a message to pick you up. If he declines, it moves out to the next nearest. You never wait more than 2 minutes, in the city, it's awesome.

So a day out at the track can't end with a few cocktails? Both are pretty awesome, but I wouldn't want to spend ALL damn day doing either.
But a taxi is generally gonna be a bit easier than hiring a personal driver.

Re: pay someone to drive you around
Wull, just do your driving first. Frankly, if you drink often enough to need someone to drive you around full time then maybe you're trying to solve problems that shouldn't exist.
