Tom Brady stays with the patriots and voluntarily takes about 30% less than he would get elsewhere, precisely to avoid this problem.
He just signed a 3 year extension at the same sweetheart deal he gave the pats 5 years ago.

I think I heard on ESPN Brady's wife made $40 million last year so maybe that's why he can take these deals

Re: 2012-2013 NFL Season
hey they still have 1 day to change their minds...they dont officially sign until Monday.
Baltimore should retract their offer and instead give Flacco some prosthetic testicles to play with until his contract runs out in March
They should franchise tag his ass and let him think about how much he's worth

Re: 2012-2013 NFL Season
^lol.
This is what happens when you sign a medicore QB to a $120 million deal....you dont have cap space left for a decent (albeit old) player. The ravens basically gave Boldin away. Who in the fuck are they hoping to draft in the 6th round?

I'm not sure if its official yet...they agreed to terms, but I dont think they've signed yet. John Elway tweeted the news, so I'm sure it will go through after a physical
The pats are trying to pickup Danny Amendola to replace Welker

well damn they sure found a replacement quick. If Amendola is able to play good with Bradford and no-O-line I'm sure him and Brady will tear shit up.

With half an hour to spare before deadline, Elvis Dumervil had agreed to take a pay cut and remain with the Denver Broncos. But the Broncos did not receive Dumervil's signed contract via fax until six minutes after the 4 p.m. Eastern deadline had passed.......
The Broncos instead filed the paperwork to release the Pro Bowl defensive end because Dumervil's $12 million would have been guaranteed if he was on the roster after the deadline.

Based on interviews over the past several weeks with current and former players, I'm told that a current gay NFL player is strongly considering coming out publicly within the next few months -- and after doing so, the player would attempt to continue his career.

"If you want a real movie, hire a real actor," wrote J.C. Unitas on Facebook.
"If you want a quarterback, go with Peyton Manning," John said. "My father was just like that. This is a joke."
"It is awful. The guy's a turd," John Jr. told USA TODAY Sports.

to answer your question a224, i would have no problem with the pats signing teo. If Bill thought it was a good decision, he's got a great knack for turning troubled and problem players into good performers.
