Just two guns..
If you have to choose just two guns for the coming bathsalt apocalypse, what would they be?
Any combination of long rifle, assault rifle, shotgun or handgun.
I like my Mossberg 590, but if I had to choose just 2 to keep from being eaten, I'm thinking an AR and a Glock 17.
Lots of ammo available, and they're both reliable platforms.
You?

Re: Just two guns..
Probably an CAR-15 (10" Barrel) and then either a Glock 19, USP, or Five-Seven

Re: Just two guns..
I was gonna say my 5-7 but it's a 20 min or hour to drive to find ammo for that gun. Its really light even with the 20 rounds which is a major plus. Either my berreta or my colt.

Re: Just two guns..
I think silence is golden so I would choose a long bow for sniper shots and a suppressed 92fs.
Once those PCP zombies hear gunshots they're going to crowd around your fox hole like an Asian in a gay parade.

Re: Just two guns..
I don't have any guns any more so I don't know, If you're asking any weapon you want then I'd take a suppressed AR-15 or perhaps the F2000 as for a handgun I'd probably take a FNP45/9 but I have neither so I'm fucked.

Re: Just two guns..
For a longarm my 5.56 AK would do just fine, and for a sidearm either a FNX-9 or USP-9 would be my pick. Availability of ammo and reliability would be two of the major requirements for dealing with the hoards of cannibalistic ultra tweakers. I have no doubt that some good SP/TSX 5.56 and some decent JHP 9mm would get the job done, even against drugged out zombies.

Re: Just two guns..
Either my Saiga-12 or my AR with one of my carbine length uppers and then my G17, for reasons mentioned above. I'm thinking the AR over the Saiga because of its superior maneuverability, capacity and range, but the crowd control effect of a 10 round drum of buckshot might be worthwhile.

Re: Just two guns..
given the amount of guns in america, would it actually be possible for a classic zombie apocolypse to occur?
wherever the brain eaters first popped up, they would be obliterated from 10 directions before they could bite anyone
it would have to stem from the water supply or something greater, at which point you're probably infected as well...
so, in a zombie apocolypse nightmare you have fortified your ground and withstood waves so far, with a meager stock of supplies. HOWEVER on a scavenging mission, you are stockpiling sheet metal and a seemingly dead zombie reanimates! it bites your finger and draws blood before you jump back to execute it.
do you:
(a) cut off your finger
(b) cut off your hand
(c) say your good-byes and bite the barrel
(d) get back to base before anyone notices, then take as many motherfuckers with you as possible

Re: Just two guns..
Hmm... just two, Mini 14 pistol grip stock or a lever action .44 mag rifle, and S&W model 29 8"barrel .44 magnum. Probably more so for the mini 14. If were talking fantasy weapons here, M60 old school Vietnam style, and a VSS Vintoreze.

Re: Just two guns..
I was assuming we could only pick from firearms we already had.
Since it seems we can pick nearly anything I would like like to change my answer.
Rifle would be a Colt R0933 "Commando" with a Gemtech G5 suppressor, LaRue Tactical rail with LDI DBAL laser, Surefire weapon light, Tangodown VFG. On top would be an Aimpoint M3 in Bobro QD mount back up by a fixed LaRue BUIS.
If I have to give up a pistol to have a PVS-14 night vision device, I will.
If I can have a handgun as well it'll simply be my above choice of a full size USP9 but set up for suppressor use. Suppressor would be an AAC Evo-9.

Re: Just two guns..
Sig P226 or Smith and Wesson 59 series
Remington 870 or a Mini 14, maybe an SKS
Ok, I've got it;
Sig P226, even though it'd be easier to find mags for a S&W
Mini-14

Re: Just two guns..
Fuck yeah dude!
But in all seriousness, I have fired those platforms in every situation i might need them in. I know what they'll do and what i can expect of them. Unless firearm technology gets leaps and bounds better, it will never make sense for me to use different weapons. The muscle memory is there, so why not use it?

I imagine this would eat through hordes pretty quick. Combine that with the many different types of ammo and shotguncartridges.
Do I get unlimited ammo though?

Re: Just two guns..
Probably a nice, quality M14 variant (.308/7.62 NATO if anybody didn't know) and my HK USP .45
The rifle combines long-range capability with more-than-adequate semiauto firepower for closer, intense fights and the pistol will last damn near forever and has a respectable capacity. Ammo for both shouldn't be hard to come by.

Re: Just two guns..
prolly a ruger 10/22 (i got 50 round mags) and a m9. this is assuming we have to hit zombies in the head. if they just die like everyone else then prolly a saiga and some high capacity pistol.

i googled the 2 colt weapons you posted and they are the same gun I think.

Pretty much.
The 6920 is a 16" barrel semi auto only.
Top rifle is my current 6920:
The R0933 has a shorter 11.5" barrel and can be fired full auto. I don't have one of them because they are not available for civilian sale and it would be maybe $15,000 to legally acquire a similar rifle.

Re: Just two guns..
Thanks.
It's just Rustoleum sand and whatever their dark brown is called. It's their camo line of paints and is holding up really well for what it is.
I think the bottom rifle came out better, to be honest. I slammed on the nozzle pretty hard when doing the Colt and it got kind of splotchy.

Re: Just two guns..
I'd go with an H&R nine-shot revolver in .22 cal--ammo is cheap and plentiful.
And a 12-gauge pump, loaded wth alternating 00 buck and sabots.

Re: Just two guns..
I'd just bug in and start building silencers for my .22LR rifles... If I had to move a friend of mine has a place that's deep enough in the heavy woods that it should be safe... I'd just load up the 3/4 Diesel and start zombie crushin until I got to his place.
As for my weapons they'd take a bit of a beating seeing as I'd just run my entire gun safe and ammo box out to the truck and burn off like a Mexican with a singed asshole.
Really no one gun for me... Just what I have and what I use.
[EDIT]
Also picked up one of these bad boys not too long ago.

Re: Just two guns..
Mini 14 with traditional stock, and a Glock 17.
Traditional stock for stealth reasons. Doesn't look intimidating if seen and if seen makes you less of a target. Also light, manoeuvrable, and accurate (no it is not a precision rifle. 1.5 moa is perfect for me).
