Isn't hacking considered "cyberterrorism" now and a felony?

Re: The datasquid is flexing its tentacles...
That's really lame, unoriginal and missing creativity.
Not to mention creepy and highly illegal.
The only reason the .gov does it is to research known and suspected criminals and terrorists and to research their past to see what they're up to and to profile them.
You suck. I bet you hate the government too. You are not a hacker.
Pretty cool civilian equipment though

How is intercepting data and cracking civilian encryption en masse with available software hacking? It's not.

Rather than using his hacking skills for semi-respectable purposes like some of those guys from anon, he uses it to selfishly hack innocent people, steal their information, and blackmail them for his own personal gain. He's just a petty small-time criminal.
Also anything constructed from obsolete pieces of junk like that isn't going to remotely compare to any modern supercomputer. It doesn't deserve to be called that. It's just a hodepodge of garbage.

A real hacker might call him a lamer. A radio head might call him a phreaker. I'd call him a felon. Do you even know what you're talking about? And what's with the rigid definitions someone has thought up for you? Do you have Asperger's?
Yeah you should really care. What ever happened to the social dynamic of group patriotism or esprit de corps? You are autistic aren't you, with your lack of humanity. The fact we are from the same country would make most people friendly towards each other.
Do you hate Australia, do you hate your country?

Re: The datasquid is flexing its tentacles...
i'm not up to date on the definition of a "hacker" but what some of you are talking about cracking passwords like he can do maybe you are confusing him with a "cracker" or "skiddy", but look at the thing he fucking built. That fucker cool as shit and required much knowledge build with the old parts. Sounds like a hcker to me. We're probably all too hung up on the "hacker" "cracker" "script kiddie" labels bullshit....the guy just built something fucking awesome, lets leave it at that.

Why make something if it already exists. For what he's using it for (if he 's even using it for stealing shit it seems like he did it just to do it and maybe find a use later) he doesn't need but if he if he writes some epic cod3z and warez will that make him ahckker to you? being a hacker is more to do than being a codemonkey. You know what, I'm done. The amount of people that are shitting on this guys poject proves the predictable and smart ass nature of this board. FUck this, i'm out. What makes you think you have any idea about my motives or uses? Who the fuck are you? I'm no criminal, I'm just a guy who didn't want to pile ninety kilos of garbage into landfill and wanted to try applying himself to a project that might give him a challenge. Fuck you.

Nope, but I had to get a lot more into the nitty gritty of operating systems than I ever had before, and I learnt a lot in the process.

What am I going to do with all this powerful computing architechture, and hardened, weatherproof, long-range wireless equipment? I’m glad you asked. I plan to collect information in the form of wireless data packets from EVERY computer or smartphone or wireless-enabled device in a forty-mile radius. That means every computer, every iphone, every PS3, every wireless enabled TV… If you send data across any medium other than cable, I WILL READ IT AND PROBABLY BLACKMAIL YOU WITH IT.
|
Ok 1337 h@x0r g33k, so now I am wondering what are your motives for writing this? Just wanted to sound like a badass? I don't think the feds monitoring this forum are going to care, since you just admitted intent to commit several felonies, and they will investigate. I'd advise editing this part out in case they haven't already discovered it.

I was being glib. I'll grant that sarcasm doesn't always translate well over the internet, but you're being a pedantic prick.
I'm not calling myself a 1337 h@x0r g33k, I'm calling myself a tinkerer who found a way to reuse old equipmrnt and learn something in the progress? Why does that offend you so much? What the fuck is wrong with this forum?

Re: The datasquid is flexing its tentacles...
When I saw the thread title I thought the owner of Storm worm must have had started to make use of the systems it could have under its control.
A few years back I had a stack of old computers lying around and wanted to build a 'supercomputer' just because. And I tried getting my universities computer labs to utilize their combined processing power for a distributed computing project Imagine all the PC's in places like schools that get turned off at the end of the day.
A single laptop from 3 years ago is more than capable of everything I want to do though.
How much does it cost to run that thing?
How many different devices do you reckon it could truly capture data from at any one time?

Doesn't cost much if anything, I run on solar power.
haven't given it a stress test yet to see what the connection saturates at, but it's happily grabbed packets from secured and unsecured wifi nets from about a dozen independent hosts at a time
