Re: The Parenting Thread
Congrats.
I just hope you intend to be a father to your daughter. If so, I'd be more than happy to offer any advice I can that would help you better understand this part of your life.

Re: The Parenting Thread
I'd be happy never to have kids, it doesn't bother me in the slightest, if one does come along then It won't be planned, that being said I could have a couple of kids out there (with other names down as the father on the birth cert instead of mine) I don't know about (or want to), as from the ages of 18 to about 25, my seed was spread far and wide.

I was thinking about teaching them computer skills. It's good to start learning those when your young.

So, your a single parent, right? I am assuming you do the cooking..so how do you do it everyday?

Re: The Parenting Thread
It's international baby wearing week, moms & dads! Baby wearing is a great way to promote physical, emotional, cognitive and social development as well as a wonderful way to bond with your babies.

Dude, he's over thirty pounds now.
Besides, he wants to run everywhere. I can't even take the boy grocery shopping because he refuses to stay in the cart. He's going through a major temper tantrum phase right now, too.
When he acts up at home I sit with him in time out instead of spanking because it seems to work a lot better after the initial tantrum is over. The other day he threw his head back and popped me right in the most sensitive part of my shoulder, (the rotator cuff, if I had to guess) and it hurt like a mother fucker. All I could think to do was just restrain him until it passed.
But, yeah, he wouldn't let me sling him across my back. We walked a mile together a couple days ago. Not once did he want me to hold him.

haha, 30lbs is doable but definitely not as comfortably! Mine is wanting to walk on her own more and more now as well, it's bitter sweet.

Re: The Parenting Thread
I have a couple of girls. They're older now, I want to take a moment to talk about lice.
Idk, it can be tough arranging child care when your kids are young.Often times one has no choice but to put them in daycare in their younger years, so that you can go out and work , and it's a little easier once they're in school full time.Unfortunately, your children will be around lots of other kids and may get lice from close contact with them.
Do yourself a favour and add some tea tree oil to their shampoo.I usually use 10-15 drops depending on the size of the container. This will save you much grief, lice is a major pain in the ass to treat once your children get it.It can take hours and hours to remove, and it's hell trying to get your child to cooperate for something like this.
Odds are they may get it again even after remove it, if you don't add this to their shampoo.Lice love clean hair, so if your child gets it, that's not a bad sign.I wish more parents were diligent about keeping an eye on this. I've treated their hair before and it has come back repeatedly, because the other kids they were around still had it.Just use tea tree oil as a preventative measure and skip all the b.s.

Re: The Parenting Thread
I have to admit abandoning your kids to become a hideous monstrosity is suicide worthy albeit you use the very action of ending your life for attention. Who am i to say you should kill yourself, but if you're not going to be in your childrens' lives or benefit them i think it would be for the best.
Just let go...
