ive never done it to my xbox controller(yet) but i used to do it to my ps2 controllers all the time

2 Original Xbox controllers (Big daddies). The analog sticks got funky, and would alternate how fast I would move. Took off the cover for the first one, which was pretty fun at LAN parties, but it eventually broke, and one of my friends bought me a used one from GameStop.

Those controllers were easily my favorite.

Other than that, I turned a Xbox controller into a USB controller and used XBCD to drive it. That's kind of breaking it.

I believe the first controller I ever destroyed was an N64 one because I kept losing thanks to the completely worn out analog stick.

After that I destroyed 2 or 3 PS2 ones thanks to worn out shoulder buttons.

I don't break a controller just because I'm pissed, but if the controller is what's causing the problems I'm definitely going to smash it.

I scored a 4 million on fire and flames and was so happy and the adrenaline of being a real life rockstar hero rock bander forced me to take the guitar and start bashing the fuck out of the TV with it. Broke the 42" plasma and the controller. I bought a new TV and then rock band. I scored a 4.0001 million on threw fire and flames with drums so I ripped each of the drum things off the stand and threw them at my TV. TV broke by the third drum I threw. It was worth it though.

I seriously broke 3 controllers playing this game, and they're the only controllers i've ever broken. I don't remember if it was all because of the bash n cash thing, at least 2 of them though.

If you have to resort to destroying a 50 dollar input device when you get mad, how about you ponder how many hours your parents worked to buy it. Also, try this... walk away from the game for a few minutes and cool down. EVERY time I do said practice, when I return to the game I accomplish what I was trying right away. Obviously because I regain focus, since anger can make the brain not operate as well.

The wiring on PS2 controllers seemed to turn to shit if you stored them in that roll-the-cable-around-the-controller method. Thankfully this problem was fixed in the next generation . Only problem I've ever had with xbox controllers is the pads on the left analog (sic) stick wearing down. it would be pretty fucking good if you could get replacement pads, because the soft compound (even softer for the 360 controllers) wears down very fucken quickly. It's grippy form fitting perfection when it's new though, for all of 15 hours (3-4 months with my gaming habits).
